Too bad I can’t select zero stars Too bad I can’t select zero stars! Deceptive business practices. They always find a reason to not cancel your contract which auto renews for 18 months! My first BBB complaint is because of this miserable company. Save yourself! Run don’t walk from this company.

Stay away from this company Stay away from this company. Had an alarm system that was under contract for 5 years. System never ever worked, bad equipment, bad service and when I had to move, no help. These people would not compromise so I wound up paying for nothing for 3.5 years. Now contract is up and they are telling me it was automatically extended because I did not notify them in writing. What a nightmare. Not only did I pay $4000 for nothing, I have had to spend a considerable amount of time trying to get them off my back.

Zero Star...CRIMINALS is what comes to… Zero Star...CRIMINALS is what comes to mind when dealing with this company. Tried to get ahold of this company since the beginning of the year to cancel my 5-year contract only to say that it can't be terminated until May when contract expires. When May comes around any I call to cancel, they said I needed to cancel in writing within 60 days of contract expiring. As a result, contract extended an additional 18 months. This company is the exact reason I will never deal with ANY company that tries to sell me something at the door. Pitiful excuse of a company!!!!

Auto-renew contracts without notice … Auto-renew contracts without notice should be illegal. Got stuck into an extra 18-month contract paying double the amount we would be paying with a competitor. So after 5 years, now stuck for another year and a half. Won't forget to send that written notice (that we weren't even aware of) this time.

Poor communication with installers. Unable to install system in one visit. Installment of system became too complicated. Northstar outsources to companies that are not kept informed. Installment should be done in one visit. We kept getting the "run around". Very frustrated so we cancelled our account. Will chose a more reputable company.
