GBTerrible company They are terrible to deal with in customer service got hung up on 3 times and they hide costs in their billing. Their cancellation fees are ridiculous so better be with them for 5 years and in some cases more otherwise your paying lots of money. When I asked to talk to a manager I was told the customer service lady was the manager also lol wow

GBBad customer service- equipment doesn't work Installers were nice enough. However, the motion sensor kept getting set off by my cat. Company replaced sensor, moved it, adjusted sensitivity-still went off. When I spoke to customer service they said they'll drop the sensor from the system and that was it. When I explained this wasn't a good resolution for me since I signed up for the service for the advertiSed motion sensor and door sensors. The rep explained "well the motion sensor was free". I then decided I didn't want to continue with this company. Transferred me to someone else...they promised to call me back tomorrow (I was in middle of teaching class when alarm was set off my cat) I never got phone call. Terrible customer service. No follow through and poor equipment.

GBCustomer Service A few days after my installation, my basement door went offline and I get notifications/calls from Protection 1, but they have yet to send a technician out to repair the issue. It's funny how Protection will work with you to schedule an installation (get your money), but when it comes to repairs.....I've been waiting for a few weeks.

GB"Activated", yet unprotected... After getting confirmation of being active and ready for protection, my pets recently set off a false alarm. That's when I find out I'm really not on the grid and the police was not called. On the one hand, it's good the pooch set the alarm off so I could realize I really wasn't being protected. Yet, the initial peace of mind I had went straight out the window, like my possessions with my recent burglary.

GBReliable But Monitoring Is So Very Expensive. Lots of alarm companies offer monitoring, and their prices vary wildly. Although some are not credible or trustworthy, one can easily choose by doing some basic research, talking with neighbors, or by reading reviews like these. One thing I can count on Protection 1 for is regular rate increases. At this point i'm paying roughly twice what I would be paying with other reliable companies. I'm paying $32 a month now. And since they use a proprietary alarm system, it's not as simple as just switching monitoring services. Be warned... once you choose these guys your basically locked in to accept their rate increases and paying their high rates.
