About Eyeglassesdepot

EyeglassesDepot.com started in 2007 as a new department of our retail designer eyeglasses and sunglasses business. Quickly we realized that our customers not only shop for new prescription lenses and new frames, they also ask us the popular question "Can this be fixed?". Tired of telling customers NO, we decided to explore the idea of repair rather then replacement. In late 2007 we remodeled the second floor of our office and hired the staff that today runs our laboratory. Our two lab technicians have combined over 17 years of expert experience in the field of optometry, eyewear repair and eyewear sales.

Will Never Use for Repairs Initial communication and shipping was very good. Estimate was reasonable and timely. However, it has been a month and still don't have my sunglasses. They don't answer the phone, they don't respond to their Chat Service, and they billed my credit card twice. I have logged into their system and can find no record of my repair. I would not use this company in the future, and do not recommend them for repairs. I have no idea about their sales.

Complain to NYC Dept of Consumer & Worker Protection I have had a very negative experience with this company similar to many other complaints/reviews I have read. After trying to deal (unsuccessfully) with the company I contacted the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection and filed a complaint. The DCWP tried reaching out to eyeglasses depot with no success and because my complaint was the only one on this co with the department, I was told there wasn't anything they could do based on ONE complaint. So, I am asking that each and everyone who sees this and feel that they were scammed by this business will do the same. Vitaly Borker of EyeGlassesDepot.Com Arrested and Charged with Fraud Vitaly Borker, apparently IS the guy who owns and operates EyeGlassesDepot.com. He was arrested and charged last week. Again with fraud. Already convicted twice and jailed twice. Hopefully the third time will end his criminal career. Google ABC News "notorious-eyecare-fraudster-nabbed-3rd-time-fraud-charges"

Scammers - BEWARE This company is a scam. Beware. If you choose not to send your glasses for repair they will hound you and threaten you for a $9.95 cancellation fee. They are continuing to harass me with phone calls and emails, and have threatened to send me to collections. They also have made a veiled threat regarding "all of your personal information." Search for other reviews before dealing with this company - I wish I would have. EDIT: I am not a competitor. Doxxing is harassment, and it's illegal under New York state law. Thanks for the hard proof that your hints about my "personal information" were an actual threat. I'm adding the screenshot to my growing file of evidence.

Probably my fault for not researching… Probably my fault for not researching this company before sending my sunglasses to be repaired. But they are a total rip off. ($40 to replace one little screw) They do not give estimates before doing a repair then hold your glasses hostage until you pay up. Impossible to get anyone on the phone and do not return messages anyway either. There was no prepaid shipping label and keep texting my phone to let me know that the bill hasn't yet been paid. No kidding. Do not use this so called repair service!
