GBAlmost perfect, but not quite. I was looking for a bariatric surgeon to help me with my weight-loss journey. I went to WLIA because I felt it was the best choice for me. My doctor, Dr. John DeBarros, has been great; but the reason I gave four stars and not five is because I was never informed of all of my options. I underwent the lap-band, but had to have it removed after 11 months due to complications from it. I became aware of all of my options the day of my surgery when I had the lap-band inserted. Not the right time to find out! Anyway, now I know the other options available to me and I'm trying to decide if I want to go further. The staff, nurses and all the doctors have been very good to me; but if anyone is considering weight-loss surgery, do all your research and ask questions, questions, questions. I know it's partly my fault for not having all the information, but I believe it's their job to help me with some of it, too, especially since that's what they do!

GBThe Office staff and Drs are very helpful The Weight Loss Institute of AZ has had staff available to answer my questions and help me understand the details of the lap band procedure. The location in Glendale is convenient and the office staff always try to assist as needed. The procedure went well and weight loss has begun.

GBExcellent Service I had The Lapband done is 2012 with Dr. Orris, the office and staff and especially Dr. Orris were Amazing, they helped to get my procedure covered and went above and beyond my expectations. Five months after my procedure I became pregnant, so Dr. Orris had to unfill my band, almost two years later, I came back to see him to start my fills again, and again, Everyone was nice, supportive and accommodating. They work with you, if your insurance doesn't pay for your fills, and are always available to answer any questions. I can't say enough about WLIA, I highly recommend this facility for anyone looking to weight loss surgery, they are honest, upfront, and I love Dr. Orris's directness!

GBVERY misleading! I was not told that the initial consultation costs $375. They also try to get you to stay out of network with your insurance. They get to make more money that way. When insisted on staying in network, they want to add all of these fees onto the bill that would be in addition to your deductible and max out of pocket. So I have to pay a "retainer fee" for a surgeon just because I want to stay in network and save money? My out of network max is $12,000.00. When I asked how much it was going to cost me if I stayed out of network they couldn't give me a straight answer. All I was told was, "We're not going to charge you $12,000.00." Sorry if I won't take your word for it. Threw up several red flags for me, but the surprise consult bill was the final straw. Be cautious. Edit: I have now gotten another EOB from my insurance showing another charge for a visit of $521.40 along with $363.00 for an EKG that they did NOT do and $180.40 for them to poke my finger to check my sugar. The bills keep coming even though I only went once. Tell me how I am charged for a physician twice in one visit!? Sounds fraudulent to me! Beware!

GBnice people Seems like they are all very nice, friendly and helpful. They really want you to be healthy but never make you feel bad because of your weight or perhaps a bad choice. They just encourage you to make a better choice next time around.
