GBMade me look like an idiot I have had a photography site with Zenfolio for some years. These days it loads slowly (glacially if using a VPN). Yesterday, after making a substantial effort to update my contact list I sent a group email out, linking to the site. I was horrified when one person replied to tell me that half the photos weren't showing. It turns out that Zenfolio archived half of my galleries. I can't put a price on lost business. This year I really must make the effort to find a new provider.

GBTOTAL REGRETS for not jumping ship when all the red flags went up I have never been this livid with a company before. I am so upset about the Zenfolio's asinine decision to stab us and our customers in the back after promising unlimited storage for our VIEWING galleries -- and archiving our galleries and making it a full-time job to unarchive them IN LIMITED #s (we get 20??? ARE YOU SERIOUS). If I wanted a worst-case backup cloud, I'd have stuck with backblaze. They are now holding our pics hostage.... we can't transfer to another service without putting in months of unarchive requests, waiting for the download link AND THEN DOWNLOADING. and their archive viewer is the worst interface I've experienced since using AOL in the 90s. I'm livid about their changes and how much it has thwarted my workflow, client perception AND my own personal photo projects as a mom who has stored 12 years of pics on Zen, and now can't see any of them, much less share them with others, download them as I need them, etc. Everyone I've talked to said it is taking days to receive unarchive requests granted....and that is only 1/4 of the elbow grease required to get our pics back. 12 years with this company just smashed to smithereens. I've never been so utterly suckerpunched by a company.... after sticking with them through all their slow AF server issues, this is how they thank us for over a decade of loyalty.

GBWhat happened???? As a long-time user of Zenfolio, I am so sad to see what this service has become. For the longest time, this service was amazing, but recently that has all changed. I'm not sure whose idea it was to start the whole archiving thing, but it is causing chaos for my business. Not only is it making galleries inaccessible to my clients, but it is crashing my portfolio causing me trouble getting new clients as well. I'm not sure what I am going to do, but at this point, I'm sure that it won't involve Zenfolio.

GBTheir archiving process is a disaster… My website hosted by Zenfolio right now is broken all over the place: galeries disappeared, collections broken, most of my blog posts lost their pictures and are now empty! I tried to "restore" all of the galleries with blog images more than 1 week ago, and the pictures are still missing! When this was going to be implemented, we were promised that all pictures used in blog and active galleries would not be archived, well that was apparently not true. We were told that galleries could be retrieved within 12 to 24 hours... another lie, it takes weeks, if it ever happens!!! Whoever came up with this didn't not really understand how photographers do business. The archiving process should ONLY archive galleries/pictures which haven't been accessed (viewed) by a customer for more than 2 years. The current implementation is completely stupid, I bet most photographers on Zenfolio are now are trying to unarchive archived galleries because: #1 their website is broken #2 customers can't access their galleries That's sad because I have been with Zenfolio for more than 14 years, and I won't renew with them after this fiasco.

GBZenfolio really going downhill - Stay awy The first 7-8 years with Zenfolio were good. There were occasional hiccups with their slow uploading but overall it was acceptable. The past 2-3 years have been terrible and this new archiving scheme that they are forcing on everyone is a disaster! I have no idea how they thought this was a good deal for photographers. I believe they are trying to get the classic users to leave so they can go on to other things. There is no customer service. You hit their chat button and you might get a reply a week later. I would warn people to stay away from Zenfolio...I'm looking at other platforms right now.
