GBPlease contact the FCC and let them… Please contact the FCC and let them know of all the problems with Basic Talk (which is Vonage). We did and its very easy to do. Once the FCC gets involved Vonage MUST respond to your query. Perhaps if enough people make a complaint something MIGHT change. Or if you are looking to cancel and need a refund, again, contact the FCC - that is the fire Vonage needs to get moving and get your situation resolved. Unfortunately, even AFTER contacting the FCC, Basic Talk (Vonage) just blows more smoke up your derriere and makes it as though your box and connection are suddenly the problem (not them). That, after all these years you now need to connect the box directly to your phone and that's why there are dropped calls repeatedly and garbled speech. NOPE, it's Vonage. And, as if you didn't already know, Vonage (BasicTalk) is ALL based in India, not the USA and Basic Talk has NO SUPPORT.

GBOur home phone Our home phone, connected to the Basic Talk modem via Ethernet, suddenly stopped receiving calls. We could call out, at least, and this system has worked well for the past decade or so of our subscription, but things quickly got worse. Now we're not able to make calls as of yesterday (03/07/2024), and the company sent an email advising us that our service was terminated, and that they needed to legally advise us that we have no emergency (911) call capability! My interactions with customer service were cordial, but they could not resolve the original problem. Basic Talk was a good phone service, but apparently they're not maintaining good customer relations or support.

GBBe warned! If you try to cancel your plan, be careful. They will tell you you're all set and they are sorry to see you go and then they will email you a letter thanking you for continuing your service with them and the charges will continue to be applied to your credit card. If you happen not to notice the charges, they will state that they have a policy of not offering refunds. This company is scamming its customers.

GBI've NEVer had Basic Talk in my Life! I've NEVer had Basic Talk in my Life!! But somehow they're billing my account and have been since June of 2023 for $1.99, twice each month for 10 months. I called and this Asian lady, that you can barely understand, told me to call my bank. Then I'm given the number from the bank, to call the telephone number they have on file for them. I do and I'm Forced to leave an E-mail. I want my money refunded and the FCC to look into this. This is nothing more than Theft. I've been a customer of either Verizon or Spectrum for over a decade and Never needed Basic Talk. I had to go on the computer to find out who they are. If my money isn't put back into my account in 24 hours, I'M CALLING THE COPS !!! If it wasn't for the App "Rocket Money", that I recently downloaded, I would have never known they were stealing from me.

GBIt's Vonage and Service is terrible Service is terrible, dropped calls, no customer support - only email and you wait DAYS to maybe get an answer. Usually any issue is just ignored. BTW, there is no BasicTalk its ALL Vonage. If you complain, someone from Vonage will be calling (from India) and they won't recognize your phone number because they won't have you listed under Vonage. So, its a circle jerk of nonsense. They never address your issues, just ignore and will turn off your service for non payment of a few days even though they won't fix the calling issues. And, as I understand, make it very difficult to cancel your service on purpose. Get rid of this "service" as fast as you can, its a joke and no one cares.
