vonage is GARBAGE I got this VOIP service because they were supposed to have the best customer service. I got my equipment and there was an issue with it having to be hardwired and not having wifi so I called customer service. They couldn't help me with the issue so I asked to be transferred to cancel my account. They then proceeded to hang up on me 4 times. They finally got my account canceled but they were either purposely disconnecting me or vonage drops a whole lot of calls.

Stay away from this unprofessional company An absolute disgrace of a company. No way for you to talk to anyone with authority no matter how many times you call / email / chat. They say their porting department is "offline". All you can talk to is reps in India who can't do anything except apologize and "open tickets" that stay open forever and don't go anywhere. They have wasted my time for 23 days trying to do a simple number porting from Verizon. Super frustrating. Don't waste your time with Vonage please.

Vonage has gone downhill I used to carry a high opinion of Vonage, they seemed to care about the customer. Until recently. Any business that calls customers on Christmas day, loyal ones that have been with them for years that just happen to miss a payment due to an issue with the banking network, seeking money is not a business I want to support. I have cancelled my contract with them and have no intention of ever renewing.

Professional, reliable and cost effective. After years of practice I think Vonage have got it right on switching a user over too their telephone system. The new system based on the internet has been up and running with no complications or problems for the last few weeks. The bonus in all this is you get a competative price for a landline and that was the deal breaker.

Porting BEWARE Porting BEWARE. The actual process of porting was easy. Only problem is that it does not work. With the Vonage number it was fine but after porting it would not work and refused to work despite lots of phone calls to Internet provider and Vonage. Don't do it. UPDATE. Finally solved when I spoke to the right person. It seems my number was not associated? with the Vonage system. This was not part of the Technical Support person's standard list of fixes such as switching DMZ on, and Port Fowarding. The supervisor took 2 minutes to correct the problem, and said procedure will be updated. Phone working well now. At least contacting Technical support was easy and everyone was patient and did their best to help.
