RIP OFF OF THE CENTURY RIP OFF OF THE CENTURY I purchased hotel accommodation for 3 nights in NZ with NZ credit card and charged $147 of expedia fees for booking through them. It was showing as a NZ site with NZ dollars but they charge tax and fees on top of the advertised price that states includes taxes and fees. They were argumentative on the chat box, can't get an anwere out of anybody, it goes around in circles, and finally I found out that the tax he said I was being charged was just their fee. That was not mentioned anywhere prior. They don't have a phone number to call and the callers don't speak good English especially for a NZ site. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM. GO TO THE HOTEL WEBSITE TO BOOK.

They scam you!! They scam you!!! Had to cancel flight. They gave credit. Went to try and book and use credit they came back with a price quadruple the rates on site. They are trying to make money off people! They took $600 in cancelation fees then wanted $800 per person additional. How does the site say $350 and they want $800.

Expedia only booked one room for us and… Expedia only booked one room for us and we paid for 2. The couple traveling with us had to pay for their room. Expedia refuses to refund our $150, saying the other couple was a no show. The motel manager told us this is not unusual for Expedia. I believe this is an illegal scheme. I will be contacting that motel again and get lists of these incidents and will file appropriate action. DO NOT USE EXPEDIA OR EXPECT TO GET RIPPED OFF.

I normally use Expedia to book travel I normally use Expedia to book travel. This time I booked a flight, hotel and rental car for June 2024 and for the first time I took the travel insurance for all of it. However, I have a family emergence and did not have the funds to continue my trip and attend the family emergency. The insurance will NOT refund any of it. I have to submit a bunch of supporting documents as proof and then they will make a decision (weeks to process) whether or not a refund is warranted. I suggest you NOT use Expedia travel service. I will contact the companies directly to book reservations from now on.

I am utterly appalled by the horrendous… I am utterly appalled by the horrendous customer service I received from Expedia today. I wasted an entire Sunday trying to communicate with their team via Twitter, only to be met with what can only be described as sheer incompetence. It was, without a doubt, the worst customer service I have ever experienced from any company. Despite repeated attempts over five hours to connect with a human via phone calls and their entirely ineffectual website chat, my efforts were in vain. Furthermore, when I explicitly requested information on how to lodge a formal complaint via Twitter and Facebook, they flatly refused. After years of being a loyal customer, it's clear that Expedia's standards have plummeted dramatically. I can categorically say this will be my last encounter with them.
