A big mess Update 21/04 1) I think gumtree is well aware of the scam situation, and they probably get something in exchange to keep things like that. Even because this is not a recent problem. 2) They made an account on my behalf, without my permission. i found out a profile on a mail that i never used on their website. 3) If you want to close your account you have to send a message to their customer service, and they'll ask you to send back a bunch of absurd infos (you'll never remember all of them). 4) It's impossible to deactivate the button "Allow to track my activity across other companies apps and websites" under privacy. everytime you save and refresh the page, it goes back on active

Rubbish security and full of scammers Just full of scammers. Then when my account was compromised, no-one let me know. They just shut it down. Lost my rep. lost my ads. And they could not tell me if my Google credentials had been compromised (log ins via Google).

HIGHLY RATED SELLER IS SICK OF SCAMMERS I am a highly rated seller and have been on Gumtree since 2014. Time to act Gumtree!! How about taking some responsibility for the overwhelming ammount of scammers you are allowing on Gumtree. Maybe don't accept any new members unless they have been 100% checked out and BAN g-mail accounts. WAKE UP or you won't have a business in 6 months time!!

Cannot login as there is an issue with your accountt Cannot login as there is an issue with my account. From Gumtree help: "Sorry, there appears to be an issue with your account, please contact customer service message." has been submitted. We try to reply to all tickets within 24 hours. Three days later nothing has been done other than give another ticket number to this query.

scammers central every single reply i have had whilst selling a laptop on gumtree ,has been a pathetic scammer ,i report them.....nothing is done EVER!!!!gumtree is as useless as ever,you can't block the scammers,i have never ever sold anything on gumtree ,the only advantage is gumtree attracts the dumbest scammers around,only reason i haven't closed my account is im old an i get bored so playing mind games with scammers pass my idle time,doesn't present much of a challenge though as these so called scammers use the exact same message every single time,i would give gumtree minus stars but i can't if i could it would be 10- stars
