GBThe Modern-Day Digital Extortionists Sony PlayStation's business tactics are reminiscent of a digital extortion racket, with a modern twist. Their shameless overpricing of decade-old games, coupled with demanding exorbitant fees for digital downloads, is a slap in the face to consumers who have already paid for these titles once before. But it doesn't stop there. Sony's flagrant disregard for consumer rights, particularly in the UK where they exploit legal loopholes to dodge refund obligations, is appalling. Their iron grip on PlayStation Network access, effectively holding gamers' own Wi-Fi connections hostage unless they comply with their demands, reeks of exploitation reminiscent of the mafia's tactics from yesteryears. Sony PlayStation's predatory practices not only disrespect their customers but also undermine the very essence of fair trade. Gamers deserve better treatment than to be strong-armed into paying inflated prices for outdated content and then denied basic consumer protections. It's high time Sony reevaluates its priorities and starts respecting the rights and dignity of its user base. Until then, consumers should think twice before getting ensnared in Sony's web of digital exploitation.

TRNo refund for not downloadable game. My refund request was not accepted on the grounds that the game was downloaded; but the game is a PS5 game. I don't even have a PS5. Even I realized that I bought the wrong version of the game when there was no download option. Sony's response is that the game has been downloaded/started to be downloaded, so no refunds can be made. I wonder where it downloaded? Even though I forwarded it twice, I received the same answer; The policy is ridiculous from the beginning anyway... You can see very easily games played for how long, how many MB was downloaded etc. It is not possible to download the game when i dont have ps5 and there is no active download button.. I mean, we say Sony is a big company, but they are worse than the oriental cunning. I'm sure I wouldn't have this problem even in a company that doesn't understand corporate governance at all. I want a refund for the game, which I bought the wrong version and couldn't download. Or you should just erase/abolish refund policy... I have never experienced such a stupid situation with any company.

GBPiece of junk. Years ago I had a PlayStation and it was brilliant. So, years later, yesterday I bought a new PlayStation 5 and the Grand Turismo 7 game. Obviously I was expecting a great game console and game. However both are total crap. On my old PlayStation, plug in, pop in a game and off you go. Not this piece of s**t. Spend ages ie all afternoon setting it up before it can even be used. Needs to log onto internet then email address and date of birth FFS. Then, finally put in the game disc and after over 24 hours it still has not loaded. Checked the internet and one user suggested logging off the internet and then reload the disc. Well, hours later, still not uploaded. Am off back to the shop to try and get a refund for the piece of absolute junk. Don’t buy, it truly deserves to be flushed.

GBAbsolute Con - Avoid at all costs I logged on to Playstation store to check price of digital version of MW3. It was more expensive than anywhere else so tried to exit and return to game. Pressed wrong button and accidentally purchased. 2am but i contacted them immediately to cancel but they were closed and said open Monday. Contacted Monday and they said it has been downloaded so couldnt be refunded. IT HADN'T!! I went to game to check this and it said i couldnt play as content wasnt downloaded. Asked them to escalate and 3 weeks later got generic email saying couldn't refund as it had been downloaded and complaint was over 14 days. Total con - avoid buying digital through store at all costs. (NB I've now downloaded anyway seeing as i had no choice but feel totally ripped off as i wouldnt have paid £70 when it is £50 elsewhere

I no longer respect Sony. Used to be 5/5 company. Now they just been going down hill since 2018. What can I say folks, if we don't make a stand now they will just bully us all controlling what we play and when they want, doesn't seem right to me somehow.
