On 11/26/22 I went to the Turner store… On 11/26/22 I went to the Turner store on Mohawk Drive in Bakersfield, and paid in full for a Kimber pistol that was on sale. A couple of days into the ten day waiting period, I received an unsigned form letter dated 12/1/22 from the DOJ stating that they were delaying the sale for thirty days while they investigate my identity and the possibility that the gun was stolen. The DOJ has done this on every gun I have purchased in the last two years and this makes three times, and my fingerprints were livescanned over a decade ago. The FFL I used on the previous two DOJ delays simply handed me my gun at expiration of the delay, since nothing was found as usual. Anyway, I received a phone call from Turner's on 12/26/22 wherein they stated the DOJ hold had expired without incident, but Turner's was choosing to cancel the sale anyway. They said they would be refunding my money LESS the $44.70 DROS fee ( $7.00 of which is Turner's own "service charge"). I protested that since it was Turner who was cancelling the sale, they should be the one who eats the DROS fee, but they stood firm. All they had left to do was hand me the gun that I arguably owned at that point, but they opted to cancel. So, I went to their store on 12/26/22 and returned two mags that I had previously bought for the gun I was now not getting. While I was there, I asked for the refund on the gun. They refused, stating that refund amounts over $500. had to be mailed to my address by corporate. They didn't say when that refund would come. So, now Turner has had the use of over $1,300. of my money for more than a month, and counting, and still intends to rip me off for the DROS fee they rendered useless. When I buy a gun from a customer friendly FFL, I will have to pay the DROS fees again. The DOJ is violating people's rights and Turner is helping them do it.

Careless Customer Service I recently tried to purchase 2 firearms from Turner's and ended up having to walk away from the purchase, even losing $400 out of principle because I decided not to buy here after my experiences and what they chose to keep. I went to this location 3 times, the first 2 times I witnessed unhappy and frustrated gun buying customers and should have walked away, but I really wanted the guns. The first time was to make the purchase and process paperwork. The fella who helped must have had someone poop in his cereal that day cause he was not feeling his work or life in general that day. I will fully admit I made a mistake not knowing what day my cleared pickup day was for my first gun. I am an older father of two to young children and have young adults in college. I own and run 2 businesses and employ 15 people. It's my responsibility to assist all of them to the best of my abilities and to teach them customer service and what it means to our businesses. Turner's management has done the opposite. They had a choice to make 1 phone call, and it would be good or bad, and they chose the latter. Instead of taking 30- seconds to make a call reminding a busy customer or like myself, a mistaken customer that the purchase is available for pickup they choose to to make one call for 30-seconds to tell me everything I did wrong and it to late that I must pay again and start over. Fine, I except what I did wrong. Either way, you had one 30-second phone to make you choose for it to be the bad customer service version. I will keep my gun purchases with small gunshops that need and want to help their customers.

Gun Transfers is not what the employee likes to do Today we had a very bad experience at Turners Outdoors on Blackstone/ Bullard in Fresno. We wanted to share this with everyone. Our number got called by an employee named Phil, he asked what we was there for. We told him it was for a gun transfer. He rolled his eyes immediately and shook his head at us. I asked, Do you not want to service us? He told us, rudely that tranfers takes a long time to do and that he did not like to do them. He commented that was probably why they had asked him to come to the back to help out. He avoided my question and asked where our gun was. We told him it was with us. He said why we didn’t check it in. We told him no one asked us to. We explained that we carried it in the store for half an hour and not once did an employee or manager in the store inform us it had to be checked in first. Mind you, this is our first time doing a gun transfer ever. Rudely, he told us there is a posting at the door!!! I said, are you expecting all Turner customers to read all postings at the door prior to coming in? Again he avoided the question and babbled to another customer how it was posted on the door and we should have seen it. Note: this part should have never been said by the employee. We went to the front to check in the gun and asked for a manager. Once the manager came you can see Phil come strolling up to the front as well. I proceeded to explain the situation and Phil rudely interrupted and replied “you know, we don’t have to service you. If you don’t like it you can leave”!!! Gun transfers is a hassle and a pain in my ass to do. Note: Another thing that should not have been said. We explained how poor his customer service was in front of the manager yet the tackle manager did not stop Phil from talking to us rudely. By this time, we knew Phil and the manager was in cahoots. Phil left and I told the manager, if it was any other place the employee would have been stopped or reprimanded by a manager. Yet the manager said nothing he just continued to process our check in. We never received an apology from either staff. This is the part that really ticked me off. I asked the manager once we were checked in could he assign a different employee to service us. He told us it’s however the dice rolls! He cannot control who we get. They took our gun to the back of the store. After waiting for another to be serviced we were fed up and asked for our gun back and just left the store. Unfortunately no pictures of who he is but you will know once you talk to him he is very rude elderly person who seems like he doesn’t even want to be there.
