MXGreat teachers I have courses from both Sharon Gilchrist and John reischman on the mandolin. Both are outstanding courses and the teaching is top notch as of course is the playing. I especially like John's taste in mandolin music and Sharon's approach to improvising made easy.

GBLongtime student's review The instructors-in my case Joe K & John R-are just so good and thorough with teaching style. I do wish there was a less circuitous route to sending messages to either Peghead or to individual instructors though. A separate method for longtime students versus the more "frequently asked questions" method.

GBSharon Gilchrist’s Fingerboard Method… Sharon Gilchrist’s Fingerboard Method course has helped me tremendously. I’m looking at the fingerboard differently and I’m learning a lot about how to lay a melody over the chord progression. I had been in a prolonged plateau period with my playing and this course has spurred me forward and reinvigorated my enthusiasm for playing. Sharon is a great teacher and thoroughly explains the framework of her method. I can’t overstate the value of this course. The level of instruction for the price cannot be beat.

GBSuperb since its inception! I've subscribed to Peghead Nation since its inception, and can only say I've been thoroughly pleased. At only $20/month, it is an incredible value. Videos and recordings are excellent. You won't be disappointed. My only gripe is that I can't keep up with the material, and periodically unsubscribe so I can work on what lessons I've used. Three thumbs up!

GBBeginner Banjo I signed up for beginning banjo. Lessons are pretty basic, which is good. And not too long, which is also good. You have to practice between lessons. My only issue came about when playing Rolling in my sweet baby's arms. I couldn't tell exactly when the chord changes were occurring. The instructor mentioned referring to the written music, which I have not been able to find anywhere on the site.
