About Cannondale

Cannondale started in a loft above a pickle factory in 1971 in Connecticut USA making bicycle luggage and a trailer to haul kids called 'the bugger'. We were one of the pioneers of high performance bicycles by using oversized aluminium tubing which gave a lighter, stiffer ride and also a technological pioneer with products including the Lefty single sided suspension system in 1999, still fitted to bikes today.

Bike with facture defects On April 7, 2023 I bought a bike on the official Cannondale website and when I went to pick up the bike at the store that I chose to assemble it, the bike was full of problems, as the wheels came with factory defects. I have already sent 7 emails to Cannondale and so far I have no response or solution to the problem. shameful for the brand.

Failing freehub fixed for free I had a problem with a repeatedly failing freehub on my Topstone, which I think was due to a seal being missing from the axle when the bike was assembled. It was initially very hard to get in touch with anyone from Cannondale (hence 4 and not 5 stars), but once I did (using the email on this page) they responded instantly and sent me a replacement freehub + seal, free of charge. This is two years (and two freehubs) since I bought the bike, so they could have washed their hands of it.. No quibble and no issues, just a goodwill "to keep you rolling".

Very Bad customer service and after sales I've been a Cannondale customer since the 90's. I owned many high end Cannondale MTB's. Jekyll's 26inch, Carbon Scalpel 26 and 29inch, old Super V, different Hardtails, ... I started buying Cannondale because of innovation and customer service. 2 Things they completely lost. Especially the latter. If you pay over $10.000 for a bike I expect to find service parts and help if things break after 2 years. Yeah Cannondale bikes look nice but so do many other brands nowadays

Topstone 1 Gravel - Unreliable Bought a Cannondale Topstone 1 to commute to work, using a mixture of roads, towpaths and walkways. I average 90 miles a week on it and have done 2500 miles since September 2022. I have had nothing but problems with it. So far, a new bottom bracket, new Free Wheel Hub and wheel bearings. I really look after it, but it spends more time being repaired than I use it and have it well maintained by my local fantastic bike shop. An upgraded Hub was put on, 200 miles later, it is playing up again!! There are also constant creaks and clonks which drive me mad. For £2200, it really is unreliable and not worth the money. I should have learnt my lesson after having similar issues with a Synapse some years ago

I purchased a Cannondale from Evans… I purchased a Cannondale from Evans Cycles (UK) on 22 July 2022. After the bike arrived on 11th Aug 2022 I completed the form to receive a free MIPS helmet (Cannondale Topstone Helmet Promotion) but to date have still not received the helmet. There is no means of contacting Cannondale other than by DM on Facebook and they don't bother responding to that. Eventually Cannondale responded to this review in November stating "please contact emily@cannondale to resolve". I tried .com & .co.uk, neither of which worked so cannondale just trying to look as though they care for PR purposes when, in fact, they dont.
