GBDON'T USE ECONOMY BOOKING NOR AMERICA CAR RENTAL I rented a car through Economy booking with a company called America car rental. Upon arriving to the airport we could not find the America car rental stand so we asked everyone until one guy sent us outside to look for a man holding up the "America car rentals sign" we found him and after waiting about 20 minutes we got into a bus where it was supposed to take us to America car rental. When we arrived to the place that was about 10 minutes from the airport we realized that it looked as if it were a third party. We got there and weren't even greeted by this man who was behind the counter. We told him that we had a reservation and he looked us up and said that he could not give us the rental because we had to purchase the insurance that they provided AFTER we had already paid for a full coverage insurance through the economy booking. This extra charge was $146 and he tried to explain to us that they didnt take whatever insurance we had already bought. He refused to try to help us and basically said sorry there is nothing I can do. We tried calling America car rental and economy booking and no one was able to help us whatsoever. The man at the counter said that we had to go back to the airport to talk to another American car rental representative. We rode back in the van to the airport to find another America car rental rep and again, he was not able to help us and said that they did not take this certain insurance that we had already bought. We arrived at the airport around 9:30am and did not leave with a rental car until about 1:30pm. At the end, we had to use another car rental company because clearly this was all a scam and no one wanted to help us. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING ECONOMY BOOKING NOR AMERICA CAR RENTALS AS THEY ARE 0 HELP AND EXTREMELY RUDE.

GBI rented a car with Economy through…Priceline I rented a car with Economy through Priceline for $91.33. When I got to the Agency location in Cancun, I was charged an extra $210 for insurance even though I had my insurance card, a premium credit card with insurance coverage, and the Priceline contract that did not list an insurance cost. Economy would not provide me a vehicle unless I paid the exorbitant insurance charge. When I called Priceline I was told that the $91 charge was to hold the reservation and the Rental company could charge whatever else it wanted. Lesson No. 1 learned is that you should not book through a third party as there is no recourse and you can be charged whatever the agency wants. Lesson 2 is that once you book directly with a rental company, you should read all documents to be sure there are no insurance add ons.

MXDo not rent from this company I had a reservation through car rental.com for a car from this company in Monterrey, Mexico. When I arrived to pick up the car, the company wanted to sell me their own expensive insurance. They did not did not accept the third party insurance which I had just purchased and showed them in writing. They did not provide the car. I had to find another rental car at the airport my self . By the way, do not make reservation through car rental.com either since they do not stand behind their own reservations/contracts.

GBPrice quoted was not the price I was charged. Charged more at the airport than shown on my statement from American Rental. I didn't have time to argue with the agent at Budget so I accepted the increase rather then wind up with no car. Wound up paying more then if I had booked directly with Budget. I will never use American Car Rental again.

GBTen Stars I'd give these guys 10 stars if I could! I originally rated them 4 stars because there was a charge I didn't understand. They saw the review, called me, explained the charge and then removed it at my request. Outstanding customer service!
