GBPetFirst Pet Insurance should be part of every puppy kit. Our dog, Lillie, a 9-year-old Westie, has been covered by PetFirst Pet Insurance from the day we got her. We've had 2 major claims--one when she was 1-year-old and developed bladder stones that required emergency surgery and a second this past year when she needed treatent for skin cancer. She has recovered from both, thank goodness. PetFirst processed both claims promptly and covered 90% of our expenses after the $100 per incident deductible. PetFirst gives you peace of mind so you won't have to choose between treating your sick pet and avoiding financial hardship.

GBNot what I expected. They charge a deductible for each claim submitted instead of a one time yearly deductible like most insurances. Not everything is included. I found a pet insurance that covers well, sick, and prevention also microchipping. 97% reminbursement after deductible is met. Mine was met in 2 visits. I wouldn't recommend petfirst. I only had them because I adopted a dog from a rescue and she came with 30 day pet insurance.

GBCanceled my policy with PetFirst… I just canceled my policy with PetFirst (MetLife). After one year of coverage they automatically increased my monthly rate by nearly 40%! That's an insane increase, and that's with no covered claims! I asked the customer service person if that policy was reflected in my contract and she said, "no, we just automatically increase the price every year at renewal because your dog is older." What? So in essence after the first year they can charge you whatever they want every year and we as customers have no say. I said bye. These are questionable practices at best and I'm hoping I can find another pet insurance company who will conduct themselves in a more reputable and honest way. Buyer beware.

GBI decided to try this insurance I decided to try this insurance, since the local shelter gives one month free when you adopt from them... well, it was a huge mistake! About 2 months after we adopted our sweet dog, her vet found and recommended the removal/biopsy of three mammary tumors. After I submitted all vet paperwork and shelter documents, and the vet hospital submitted to them twice, Petfirst just kept emailing me that the claim was denied for lack of documentation. When I called them, they said to resubmit, then one person said they'd check directly with our vet... still received denied emails. I've cancelled my policy, because they make it so difficult to get service. I believe that's part of their scam, so they mostly take money in and deny mist claims. Insurance shoppers be very aware of thurs place!

GBPet First is absolutely terrible Pet First is absolutely terrible. I have had to talk to 5 different people because their communication within their office is poor. I explained it 5 times that I rescued my dog from a woman whose husband was abusive so there are no adoption paperwork. Stevie (my German Shepard) had to have surgery to get something removed to make sure that it wasn't cancer and they STILL have not helped pay this bill. I just got a "denied," email. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING INSURANCE!
