GBNothing discouraging about this online bank! I first got Varo for an extra account. After careful studying of all the features it is now my bank of choice. Varo really is a bank with checking and savings accounts. You can even manage other accounts thru your Varo account. With direct deposit you get 2 days faster as well.

GB$400.72 deposit into wrong account number. UPDATE: Failed to verify contact info and deposited my $400.72 into someone else's account. Giving the run around on getting transaction reversed. Accepted a direct deposit with non matching contact info. I sent them the transaction receipt and time after time they failed to find the mistake. I finally notice the 2nd digit of the account number is wrong. I call to their attention and get nothing. They know which account the money went to yet they won't dpo anything about it. I have been waiting for a direct deposit since 03/12/2024. Since the contact details did not match the bank account number - I'm not sure why the bank accepted the money. Very frustrated and keep getting "It's been escalated and you'll be contacted within 48 hours." It's been a full month now. Once I find out it's on Varo's end that the money isn't there I initially made contact on April 2nd only to be told - They would contact me 2 business days later. So I contact them this morning at the same time I initiated the query only to be told that I needed to wait until end of day. I've been waiting on this money now for a month as of tomorrow. Attempted to call back this evening bc I didn't hear from them only to get a message to call back during business hours. Tomorrow is Friday so if they don't find my money - I'm screwed! I have bills to pay and Varo need to get with it and credit my account.. IDK what I;m gonna do if I don't get funds tomorrow!!

GBVaro is a good bank - for true online banking I have been with Varo now for over 6 years, I started with them while they were not an "official bank", but then transformed into one being backed by the FDIC, which I thought was great. They do not have the best communication practices in the industry, but I don't really need them that often, if I email them they will respond in 24-48 hours. With a good explaination, and usally will refer to their "rules" and such. I like the new feature send to anyone, I can now send Money to my husband, with out fees. I also enjoy the high interest rates on their savings account. If you are going to compare an online bank with a brick and morter bank, there really isn't a fair comparison, Varo doesn't have locations to walk into, or if they do it might only be in Utah or something like that. I do recommend them. I hate talking to people and going to the bank, so this is a really great option for me.

GBWhat males Varo a bad option is that… What males Varo a bad option is that the app doesn't seem to work properly. Especially Zelle. Have never gotten that someone sent me. And the cash advance feature will lower your amount to borrow for no reason. Never been late with a payment, yet the reduced my amount over 50%. And of course you get no explanation. They say they have lived chat, complete lie! You are chatting with a Bot.and one if the dumbest bots I've ever used. Getting them on the phone is not possible. It feels like you'd throwing money into an empty void and u will never see it again. The fact that you talk to anyone, makes it not worth your time

GBNot worth using anymore Everything was great up until the last month. My direct deposits were consistent but in the last month they are posting later and later but my employer has over 10,000 employees and sends deposits the same time every pay period. I’m going to switch because I don’t trust them anymore! My deposit should of hit last night , bills are due and they don’t even offer live customer service!
