GBDeceptive trade practice Deceptive trade practice. False advertising. For a simple W2 and 1099-INT, they started my return for free and later imposed use of a higher software version and tried to milk $110 for a simple W2 and 1099-INT. Please stop cheating public like this

GB"Deluxe" or we don't help you "Pay us for the Deluxe service or else we provide a service less than bare minimum." Terrible greed.

GBNot much help beyond printing the return I'm amazed that there is no information for where to send your paper tax return for Federal or state. Apparently in September you can't e-file and you have to mail it in. Come on Tax Act, don't make us hunt all over for a mailing address. This is sloppy programming.

GBbe careful with this company I complete my 2023 return and they tell you on the site that I have to pay for e-file after a paid when I send the file it was rejected and I have to do it again to correct my AGI from last year. In the website they inform me that I have to pay again but that my credit card will not be charge twice. Well it ended that they charge my card three times and I have to call the bank to dispute the transactions so be careful they do charge you again if you have to resend the income tax. They lie showing that they will not charge you twice, they do I have proof.

GBNever again I've used TaxAct for many many years. For the first time, I had a bad experience. I live in New Hampshire, where there's no state tax, however, when I submitted my federal return, they also submitted my non-existent state return. They charged me $69.99 for the federal return, and $59.99 for the state return. I called customer service and asked them to refund me the $59.99. They only refunded $11.99 because it was already submitted to the IRS. If someone doesn't have to file a state tax return, why do they still submit it?! It seems very scammy to me. I'm leaving TaxAct and will be using a different software in the future.
