I have had problems with receiving a receipt from Toast I have had problems with receiving a restaurant receipt from Toast. After placing a payment using a QR code from Toast their app informed me that it emailed a receipt to me. It does not identify the email address used for the receipt. I never provided an email address to Toast. Their customer service is completely lame and told me to contact the merchant instead of taking the time to research my issue. They were unable to provide me access to their next tier of support that might have been able to answer my concerns. Very poor customer service.

Hard to be perfect POS systems were always behind in technology compared to the corporate world. Toast found the niche in a tough market and made the investment building great software and hardware for our restaurant. The only small limited downsides that we are effected by is they lock you in to their own merchant services. The credit card industry is not fair to small business but that was their early marketing strategy. I will give them 5 stars when they integrate a weather application. That's the most obvious and consistent common sense reason why we or any other restaurant will do more or less revenue is weather. Having reports and even forecast weather for labor would be great.

Completely incompetent support Very slow on support issues. Have 4 restaurants and have been with toast for 4+ years. Support has been slow but this time it is hurting our business. When they went to do a recent 3rd party integration, they disconnected one of our existing suppliers. It was down for 3 weeks despite numerous calls, chats and support tickets for help. Cost us thousands in lost sales. The same thing just happened again with another integration. They were trying to connect DoorDash and somehow disconnected GrubHub. Not only does our DoorDash not work, we have GrubHub drivers showing up for orders that have never come through the POS. Was working fine until they went to integrate our DoorDash. We have called, asked for supervisors, texted our sales person… still waiting. Have another 6 days of lost GrubHub sales and no solution. We have had 2 other POS systems that cost less and had better support. We have been billed for this integration for 3 months even though they never get them working and we lose money in sales. I see toast commented they would reach out. I put all my contact info in. If you could reach out soon it would be helpful. Was transferred to 3 people yesterday and was told I would get a call back yesterday. We have been told this many times and no one calls.

I am a bar manager I am a bar manager. The bar owner leases the Toast POS, as of 3 years ago. He did this because TOAST claims to be set up for bar's and restaurants. However, we are finding that bartenders are able to easily steal and TOAST helps them do it. Let me explain, bare with me. Toast is great for restaurants. When a ticket is created for a new customer (restaurant or bar same procedures) the bartender enters the items he/she just prepared, served and sold to the customer(s) he/she gets the total of the drink order returns to the customers collects payment (cash payment) than returns to the POS system removes all the items she just served and sold hits the NO SALE button and puts the money in the drawer. TOAST set the POS system up this way so that restaurant servers could correct orders/add orders/change orders before shooting the order back to the kitchen. Well bars do not have kitchens. Bar typically take credit cards and so the tickets that are pre authorized are sent to the kitchen. So the bartender can pull the tickett up when the customer orders another drink to be placed on their preauthorized ticket through out their visit to the bar. When you send the ticket to the kitchen and want to remove an item they need a managers approval so the bartender needs a the managers code. But they do not need a code when they leave the ticket on the front end of the POS and do not send it back. We recently discovered the removed items report which is not included in the voided items report. And found that 1 of our bartenders was removing as much as 300.00 worth of items she sold to our customers who were paying cash during her shift. We know that she stole this money because the inventory leaving the bar was more than what was coming in for payment. So I have had to map out all of her shifts removed items 2 years worth and found 90% were bogus. Based on the fact that she was able to removed multiples of the same item and once all the items are removed the ticket vanishes. I mapped all the entries to find that most items she was removing in multiples of she did not sale during her shift. I than went to the hourly production sales and compared her removed items and the same times entries the number of tickets she would close and found that she was removing more than she had sold. The sad thing is if TOAST would time stamp each entry instead of each time a new ticket is open and closed it would be a lot easier to have tracked these removed items and if TOAST would have included the removed items in the reporting system with timestamps to find if the items were moved to other tickets or removed completely. This POS system is not set up for bars NOT AT ALL. this is just one of the issues. The entire setting up of the items in categories is a pain in the butt, too much information that does not need to be entered for a single item and the items never end up in the correct catagories. Even when instructed Right now we are having problems with transferring tickets even though our bartenders have been given permission the system will not allow us to and the reporting system is to hard to single out most sold items. etc DO NOT USE THIS POS FOR YOUR BAR
