Despite participating in numerous others, Lumiere's personalized approach, extensive resources, and dedicated support make it unmatched. From helping students navigate research challenges to offering them insider knowledge on university admissions, Lumiere's team is committed to student success. The program regularly hosts webinars on university admissions (with universities such as UChicago, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and Dartmouth College), offering valuable insights to prospective applicants and program mentees. Additionally, workshops, such as LaTeX tutorials, equip students with practical skills for academic success. One of the program's notable features is its extensive range of resources, including the Notion Handbook. This invaluable resource provides students with practical information to enhance and expedite their research process.

A Must Experience My experience with the Lumiere research program started a bit rough due to some of my other programs. There were exams that I had to take and various tasks to accomplish. The workload I had was a lot, however, thanks to my Lumiere mentor who supervised me throughout the program, arranged a flexible roadmap, and told me to follow it. Since then my experience has gone smoothly and ended up with the research paper that I was looking forward to. I highly recommend this program to students who have a passion for doing research in the area they're interested in.

Lumiere has been an amazing research… Lumiere has been an amazing research experience. I have received a full ride and an amazing mentor to guide my research journey. I have learnt a lot through the program. They offered a lot of effective writing sessions and we're flexible with my schedule. I have loved the time I spend with Lumiere as I grew as a learner. They also are offering 3 credits from UC San Diego if you successfully complete the project. Overall, I would definitely recommend anyone to apply to Lumiere!

The mentor and the writing center are great! The mentor is really helpful with figuring out a research question, designing a good plan for gathering data, and reviewing and editing my paper. Also, she knows where to find relevant papers to study and has helped me find some really interesting and insightful articles. And the writing center helps too. They hold online sessions on how to write a paper. Whenever I send them my paper for advice, they come back with the most helpful feedback right on time. Their suggestions are spot-on, and they always provide explanations to back them up.

Lumiere Program Experience I really enjoy the overall design and organization of the Lumiere program. The syllabus of the program is given to you at the beginning to the program, and if you follow the syllabus, you will not have a hard time completing a high quality research paper. I really appreciated the help given to me from my mentor. This is my first time writing a research paper, however, with his help, I now fully obtained the skill of writing a standard paper. He answered my questions both in meetings and in emails immediately and motivated me during my writing process. Overall, I enjoyed this program a lot and learned both about the topic I researched and writing skills for academic papers.
