Beware of this when using hotwire.com I was researching trips for rental car and made two reservations. Somehow one was submitted as prepay which I did not authorize because I was only doing light level research. I then spent two hours chatting with hotwire and then calling Hertz and Expedia (who owns Hotwire) only to get the same answer which was to send an email to a generic email address I got a response today and it was that they could do nothing and call my bank to try and get my $632 back. This is wrong and not fair whatsoever.

ZERO STARS. Stole our money. Wish ZERO stars was an option. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to adjust the dates of our car rental for an out-of-state trip. Hotwire REFUSED TO HELP. Completely refused to switch our dates or refund our money. We paid over $1000 to Hotwire for a service we DID NOT receive, since our trip dates had changed. Customer service was absolutely useless. DO NOT RENT WITH THESE THIEVES!!!

I love it, not sure why it's got bad reviews Not sure why everyone is leaving bad reviews for hotwire - I've had some great deals from the company in the past. In Europe I saved some serious cash on hotels (I had a room worth $350 USD a night for under $150 a night on hotwire). I've saved tons of money on rental cars too under their hot deals - often times more than several hundred dollars compared to competitors. Obviously you need to be careful because you cannot be refunded for any of these rooms or cars.

Scammed by hotwire Scammed by hotwire. I was guaranteed a hotel and then got something totally different. Support didn't care at all and tried with 3 different ppl that all gave long generic responses. They even said the guarantee wording actuality means “examples” which is ridiculous.

HOTWIRE has become a SCAM HOTWIRE was fantastic back in the years. Now they are abusing their customers. The commissions are ridiculous. Go back to what you were in 2017 and become a travel giant. You won't survive otherwise
