Reykjavik Trip The packaged trip was pretty much as promised. We had a slight hitch at the Blue Lagoon. Our package listed us as standard plus, the Blue Lagoon said we had a standard entrance. The difference was 4 towels, which I had to purchase. The hotel was okay and fairly well located. If I had booked the trip myself, I would have upgraded the hotel and arrived in Iceland at a time where I could go directly to the hotel rather than early morning. All in all, I was satisfied with Sceptre. I seldom book packages. Iceland was the exception. I doubt I will book another packaged trip. I like to choose my own hotels and excursions.

Overall Experience In my opinion this was not a full service travel agency. They booked the air, car & hotel. When the holiday was approaching we had a few snags and called a few times for questions and they were completely unhelpful. Out of the 4 hotels we stayed one we suggested and asked for them to book, this one was the best hotel. The other 3 they suggested and of those only 1 was great, the other 2 were definitely not top of the line which we requested. I would not use this agency for future travel. I would do better booking on my own

Easy to work with My wife and I loved our Sceptre vacation to Ireland. Booking through Sceptre was easy, and the couple of times we called, Sceptre provided prompt and efficient help. The rental car, the hotel, and the bed and breakfasts we booked via Sceptre were outstanding. The one hitch we encountered was with JetBlue, the US domestic partner of Aer Lingus. Our JetBlue flight out of O'Hare was delayed to the point where we were going to miss our Aer Lingus flight at JFK and lose a couple days of our vacation. JetBlue could not rebook us on another carrier; we had to get our own tickets to JFK from American. We filed a claim with JetBlue and Aer Lingus for the value of our unused JetBlue flight, which is in the process of being settled. This is all not directly Sceptre's fault, but, they could have booked us with carriers who were more likely to rebook on another carrier in the event of a delay.

You're on your own! We arrived on time but the wait for a gate meant we missed our Blue Lagoon appointment. The transfer service would not convert he transfer from the Blue Lagoon to the hotel and charged us an additional 30.00 per person to transfer us. They refused to refund the original transfer...... the next day, our docs said we were to be picked up for a 9:00 am tour and to be waiting outside 1/2 hour before. We done warm clothing and exited the hotel at 8:30 to stand in sub zero weather. At 5 of 9, I asked the hotel to call to see where they were to be told they arrived early and the driver does not wait so he left without us. The hotel argued with them for us and they agreed to wait at the bus terminate if we took a taxi there. Again, extra cost without anyone caring and the young girls at the desk ignored our request for taxi reimbursement or to speak with a manager. Needless to say, we booked our other tours with a different company for the rest of Our stay.

Very friendly and helpful reps Very friendly and helpful reps. Booking B & B's was a bit laborious. Like all tours, there are some hidden costs. Very good trip though and a good experience. We would book with Sceptre again
