Helpful and responsive service CU were very helpful when I started contracting in 2016 and are my preferred umbrella. Good insurance cover and an efficient, low-key approach. Lots of guidance available and overall a better experience than from a couple of larger outfits (when choice was limited). The admin is pretty smooth. The usual occasional queries over contracts, agencies or misunderstandings are sorted out through a friendly phone call or email.

No nonsense flexible umbrella Quick to set up if you have a contract already, and very responsive to requests. Passed all client ethical checks with no issues. All interaction via email and their new online timesheet portal, beyond an early chat with account manager. Invoicing was fine once I stopped making mistakes in their system! Good value. Will use them again.

I've been with them since 2006... I've been with them since 2006 and have only stopped using them as I'm retiring. During this time I changed contract on several occasions which they handled well. If there ever were issues over timely payments, it was always the fault of the company paying funds into Contractor Umbrella, and C.U. always resolved things promptly. I have no issues recommending this friendly, communicative and helpful team.

Excellent Umbrella Company Unlike some other umbrella companies Contractor Umbrella send you the client contract for you to approve and authorise, and don't just sign it on your behalf. Nor do they have onerous conditions in the terms of employment. All the payments and paperwork is dealt with in a timely manner and without any problems. Overall they are very professional and a pleasure to work with.

Errors and Communication Issues Payslip incorrect and when on w1m1 they choose an approach that is unsuitable for non uniform payments. Too much frustration in trying to get information and update on the issues (have to be persistent and refer higher up the chain). There appears to be a lack of concern for clients and no real regard to individual client status.
