I required back surgery in 2020 I required back surgery in 2020. Went through review, got all required approvals. Paid my share. Then started trying to get hospital bill shared by Liberty. It finally ended up in their MCSS partners who negotiated with the hospital for a lower cost…meanwhile I am making payments out of pocket to avoid collections issues. MCSS told Liberty in summer of 2021 they owed hospital X and needed to reimburse my Y. No ambiguity. Liberty finally submitted for sharing in Sept of 2021…still waiting. They did pay part of the hospital bill, but so far have not reimbursed me…apparently I am considered “backlog”.

A response to LHS In response to Liberty Health Share's response: 1- UCLA required $180,000 upfront for a delicate surgery I desperately needed. Why? I was informed their dealings with LHS left them footing the bills (to what financial extent I don't know). Who has that kind of money accessible??? 'Voluntary sharing" sounds great!, but most people with LHS buy into it due to the more affordable monthly cost over 'health insurance'. But when you need it, really need it, is LHS there for you? I waited nearly 4 years to have the surgery. I was scheduled twice but postpones due to the 'sharing' that caused the problems. Thank God I turned 65. Having Medicare and an affordable supplement, UCLA immediately scheduled my surgery. But, by that time my situation excerbated. 2- When a person is ill, they may not have the energy to deal with submitting paperwork monthly. They may be unable to get out of bed! Having to submit monthly forms to get $30+ back? Think of the time it takes them to process it, then send you a check. Their chances of keeping what you're due is more probable. $30 x 12 = $720/yr. Multiply that by members who are too sick to remember, or in my case taking care of a parent with dementia that leaves you emotionally exhausted. I challenge LHS to lower the cost of the monthly fee and do away with the monthly paperwork. 3- Their response to me stated, "managing your own healthcare can be a bit confusing". Then why the h-e-double L does LHS make it 'confusing'??? 4- Research on line the complaints they've received over the years. My best guess is that the only individuals who aren't complaining, are those who haven't been sick. Yet. 5- Looking back in my correspondence, I had to work with the Legal Department at The Medical Cost Savings Solution, LTD at LHS recommendation involved after a pneumoia hospitalization. That's how 'confusing' it was. 6- Good grief. (And grief it was.)

02/23/2024 Liberty Health Share is a… 02/23/2024 Liberty Health Share is a scam. Stay clear of this criminal scam company, and I don't mean back a few years ago when they were sued for fraud and embezzlement, I mean now in 2024. This company only takes money and never pays the bills you submit. The phone help only gives you the scripted run around trying to tire your out so you give up and they keep your money. They won't let you cancel your auto payment on the phone and require one month notice in writing to cancel your billings. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CRIMINALS! LIERTY HEALTHSHARE IS A SCAM!!!

I went with their premium program that… I went with their premium program that was to cover 100% after paying $1,500 out of pocket expenses up to $1M. They appear to have cash-flow and management issues and after nearly a year now have paid only a very small portion of the expenses related to my heart-related event. They make it so user-UNfriendly that anyone who is not tech-savvy (most older folks like me) will have a near-impossible time navigating the quagmire of their system. My credit is completely ruined and it is Liberty HealthShare’s fault.

take any other available option..DO NOT USE I cancelled my "membership" today effective 12/31/2023 when my new insurance would become effective. I was then told that anything submitted after the end of October would not be eligible for "sharing". I asked how this could be correct as I have paid my membership for November and December? I was quoted a portion of Page 11 in the guidelines. If I wanted to be covered in case of an emergency I would have to pay the January and February 2024 fees to be eligible for December 2023 potential services. When I look at my account I see that my fees have paid for others, but nothing for me. This is supposed to be a bible based Christian organization, I guess their Christianity only goes as far as they get money! Sounds a bit like the pharisees of old. All show and nothing to deliver!
