DON'T take out a Precious Metals IRA! I foolishly decided to take a major portion of my IRA that was located at a local bank and open a precious metals IRA with Goldco/Equity Trust. The agents were very friendly and very convincing that I was doing the right thing. I sent them $100,000.00 and now I have a silver IRA account worth less than $40,000.00. What they neglected to tell me was that I was buying $20.00 coins for $70.00 each! It's been months since I opened my account and it still shows "Unsettled Metals Purchase". I don't know if I can withdraw the silver and have it delivered to me and claim it as a loss or not. I cannot find anyone who can or will advise me on what to do. It has been a terrible experience. I recently found out I have an aggressive type of cancer. I don't know what is worse, a company that destroys your future or a disease.

JUST DO IT! You will not be disappointed I called and spoke to a real person immediately. My request was to move my Rollover IRA to Goldco. Within 4 business days my transaction was complete. I ended up investing in Silver through Goldco. The explanation of types and pros and cons of each were explained in great detail.
