Quote was way short of what I asked for I called and spoke with Anthony and expressed my need for a full semi for moving. He gave me a quote that ended up being for only a little over half that cubic feet. When I tried to get a hold of him after being informed that it would cost thousands more to ship what I needed, he never answered or returned my calls. (three separate calls) US Standard Van Lines is Only a Broker, not the actual shipping company. You pay them for hooking you up with an actual shipping company. Save yourself a ton of money and contact the actual shipping company yourself.

I contacted US Standard and set the… I contacted US Standard and set the date for our move. They didn’t show on the designated date and I thought I had been scammed. They had over $2000 of my down payment and I thought I had been taken! I tried calling them and left messages. No one returned my frantic calls! I was distraught and scrambled to make arrangements with another moving company that wanted $10,000 more then US Standard. So then I decided to rent a Uhaul and move our belongings to a storage unit and have it all moved at a later time because Summer is the busiest time to schedule a move. I was prepared to kiss the $2000 goodbye and learn a lesson. Two days later I get a call from a guy (who can barely speak English) who’s headed to my house “I’ll be there in about 45 minutes”. I asked who he was…”I was hired by US Standard to move your belongings”. He shows up in a Budget truck with another gentleman (doesn’t speak English) with all the paperwork. I was actually relieved to have movers there so I’m a happy camper! When I woke up that morning (on my blow up mattress and all my packed boxes piled around me) I thought I was going to be moving all my belongings into a storage unit (that I had rented on Saturday when these guys didn’t show). I ran to the Post Office to get the required money orders and didn’t argue the extra $488 (for all the packing materials on top of the $1700 for a portion of the balance that would be due when my stuff was delivered to my new home in Florida. Those two men wrapped up my furniture great! Foam wrap, bubble wrap, cardboard wrapped and shrink wrap with layers and reams of tape! They were lightening quick and hard workers. And then another guy shows up with another Budget truck (because the one they arrived in 2 hours before was full of a different households stuff! And they begin loading it up. So I ask…”will you drive down to Florida in this truck”? He says “no”, this truck will go to Chicago and be unloaded into warehouse”. I was confused… So come to find out…which was NEVER explained to me I swear…, my stuff now LOADED on the Budget truck, is driven to a warehouse in Chicago and UNLOADED to wait for more Budget trucks of peoples household goods (that will be going to approximately the same destination as my stuff). Then it will be LOADED up AGAIN onto a bigger truck and driven to another warehouse in the destination state to be UNLOADED so it can then be LOADED onto a smaller truck to deliver to my house to be UNLOADED! The fine print (that I was Deliriously happy to scratch my signature next to)…said I wouldn’t be seeing my stuff for at least 15 to 21 days. I’ve related this story to neighbors and friends and they ALL had horror stories about their moves “with professional companies”. They were all afraid to say anything knowing there wasn’t anything they could do except hope my move would proceed without incident. I’m 67 years old so the “short hair” they have you by is gray. I had no choices left. Other then never doing this again I hope this can be taken as a warning! If you have to hire professionals to move you…be prepared. If they say they will be there on Saturday…they are lying. If they say it will take about 3 days for delivery…they are lying. If they say they haul all the packing material away…they are lying! The stress of it could all be avoided if they were just up front about the details. I could have taken a nice leisure vacation had they just given me the facts. I might add…the 3 man team that showed up with our stuff…sweet guys! Only one spoke English. The other two just nodded and smiled. In the end I’m missing 2 garment boxes with keepsakes that I’m hoping will be found and returned. All the loading and unloading took its toll on our belongings! Items broken and boxes crushed. The moving business needs to revamp their way of doing things. Just tell the truth. We can take it.

Friendly and eager to help. The two movers, Mike and Jason, seemed friendly and eager to help. They were friendly and professional as soon as they arrived. In addition, they moved everything so quickly! I would hire them again! On the business side, they were very clear about what everything cost, and nothing was a surprise or seemed sketchy at all.

If I could give it a zero I would If I could give it a zero I would. First attempted move was canceled because they said the truck of the mover broke down. Had no one to pick up my daughters goods as she was moving out of town. I put a deposit down on the move 3 months ago and they said they would refund in 7 to 10 days. I have received nothing yet despite several calls and messages. The sales guy at the company James Conway found me a different mover and promised me that my daughters goods would be delivered out of state in 5-7 days. That never happened and she ended up sleeping on a floor and had to go out and buy her duplicate stuff including bedding so she would not have to do this. I spent significant money going out to receive her goods as promised only to find out the day of the supposed pickup the movers were not coming. I had my daughter wait 3 days at my house with her 7 year old daughter and when they finally showed up it was midnight and they charged me 28% more than the binding estimate. The reason the mover gave was we had too much stuff. This was another lie as the Quality Control guy at the broker did my inventory check and said I had enough room to double load if I wanted. Fortunately I said no. They have a few good people in customer service I did speak to Mia and Sandra who tried to help me. Otherwise they are not to be trusted. My daughters things eventually showed up and they never disclosed up front that her stuff was going in storage. I did not authorize storage. Stay away from this company..... I plan to escalate my complaint because I still do not have my deposit back on the failed move and they overcharged me. Management shows no interest in wanting to resolve issues. Happy to hear anyone else who has a story to share and maybe we want to band together vs this type of company. By the way mover was non responsive to calls as well. They are Inch Perfect Logistics out of New Jersey... w
