A Victory Prize Worth Winning I learned about Depicteur by doing photoshop battles on the website Reddit. They sponsored a weekly battle that my entry won, and my prize was a free painting of my image. I didn't know what to expect, because I had never heard of them and also wasn't paying anything, but to my surprise I received an awesome handmade replication of my photoshopped image. It's painted so well that if you didn't know any better you'd think they printed the image on canvas, but you can see the paint strokes, especially if you hold it up against a light source. It arrived safely within the timeframe they promised, packaged very well, and their customer service was prompt and friendly. Although I didn't pay this time, I think it's well worth it and I will definitely be back when the time comes to have an image made into an oil painting.

Insane skill Depicteur is a no brainer. To date, I have commissioned two pieces: a Victorian portrait of my cat and a high renaissance piece depicting my wife and I frolicking in the heavens amongst a group of angels. Every shadow, whisker, and follicle can been seen with each meticulous stroke. The acute attention to detail makes me laugh because I will find something new every time I look at my paintings. The eyeballs of my cat are so realistic. I often catch him gazing at his own image. They even included a tiny mole three inches proximal to my nipple in my angel painting. Besides the amazing craftsmanship, the imagination behind each original work is pretty insane. I've seen other stuff done by them and all I can say is that I'm a huge fan. I'm already planning on the next piece I want commissioned: my face over Arnold Schwarzenegger's face in the film poster for "Junior".
