Mr Lash is an expert in his field Stephen Lash recently conducted vitrectomy surgery and scleral haptic fixation in my right eye. Prior to surgery, my vision was pretty bad as the lens had opacified. All aspects of his work- from initial consultation to surgery and post operative care, are high standard. I was very nervous due to the complexity of my situation but now my sight is SO much better! I cannot praise him enough. His secretary, Tanya, is worthy of mention as her responses to my many questions have been speedy, informative and reassuring. Thank you to both.

My experience of cataract surgery was… My experience of cataract surgery was excellent. I was well informed at all stages from initial consultation, the procedure, post op care and follow up. I am very pleased with the results and I am no longer dependent on glasses which has changed my life. I felt very safe and confident in Mr Lash’s skills and expertise and received an excellent standard of care.

Retinal detachment macular off right… Retinal detachment macular off right eye (second detachment in 8 weeks). Stephen stepped in as my surgeon was on holiday. He saved the sight in my eye although my vision isn’t good but it was even worse before the operation. I was, and am, so grateful to him. Epiretinal membrane left eye. A great success although I shouted at him as I wasn’t aware he’d told me I might not be able to drive again but since May 2023 I’ve been driving. Thank you, Stephen, I shall be forever grateful to you. Also, a big shout out for Tanya for whom nothing was too much trouble.

Fantastic My story starts with a good friend and neighbour, who came over from Guernsey to Mr Lash for cataract surgery, he came back full of praise for him. So when it was my turn, there was only one person l would truly trust. All the lovely reviews are correct, he is wonderful, answers all my silly questions via his secretary Tanya quickly, even offered to do both eyes at the same time. Procedure day had a gin and tonic anesthetic from Paul and l don’t drink, in l went marked one and two above my eyes, Stephen chatted as he worked letting me know at what stage he was at, didn’t feel a thing. At the age of 81, after wearing glasses for the past 40 years, May only need driving/reading glasses when l have a check up with my optometrist. Vitrectomy, EMV Lens replacement, cataract surgery... I had procrastinated over my eye surgery, which resulted from an accident ten years ago. Finally the floaters were getting too much so after consultation with Dr Lash I went for it - EMV lens replacement in both eyes, cataract surgery in both eyes and a full vitrectomy in my left eye. Results are incredible. And this is one year on. I didnt want to review such surgery instantly but wanted to see how it settled down. It is still one of the best decisions and investments I have ever made. no more contact lenses, colours are brighter, everything is lighter - an absolute gamechanger. Couldnt be happier, and still am a year after surgery. For sure, eye surgery is not pleasant, there are occasional snags to work through, but it is all so well explained, followed up and cared for throughout. My sight is pretty much 20:20 now in each eye (actually better than that in one!). Occasionally use reading glasses for really small stuff by I can work at my desk and laptop with no glasses and my distant vision is amazing. Such a contrast to what it was before. Clearly Dr Lash is highly capable, very skillful and works with a great team. Thoroughly recommended.
