I had surgery at Southampton Eye… I had surgery at Southampton Eye Hospital, to correct a dislocated lens. Mr Lash removed the vitreous gel and the old lens; then, under his supervision, a colleague fastened the new lens in place. Stephen Lash and the whole team were excellent and inspired confidence throughout. Yes Stephen you were very calm, I only heard your voice rise a notch once! Retinal detachment macular off right… Retinal detachment macular off right eye (second detachment in 8 weeks). Stephen stepped in as my surgeon was on holiday. He saved the sight in my eye although my vision isn’t good but it was even worse before the operation. I was, and am, so grateful to him. Epiretinal membrane left eye. A great success although I shouted at him as I wasn’t aware he’d told me I might not be able to drive again but since May 2023 I’ve been driving. Thank you, Stephen, I shall be forever grateful to you. Also, a big shout out for Tanya for whom nothing was too much trouble.

Removal of floaters from my eyes Stephen provided an excellent service. I have had the floaters removed from both of my eyes now, the second eye surgery recently in December. Everything went smoothly, there was no pain and I now have wonderfully clear eyesight. I am happy to recommend Stephen for surgery to remove floaters.

My experience of cataract surgery was… My experience of cataract surgery was excellent. I was well informed at all stages from initial consultation, the procedure, post op care and follow up. I am very pleased with the results and I am no longer dependent on glasses which has changed my life. I felt very safe and confident in Mr Lash’s skills and expertise and received an excellent standard of care.

Bilateral cataract surgery & YAG laser capsulotomy I had bilateral cataract surgery in October followed by bilateral YAG laser capsulotomy yesterday. I was very(!) apprehensive about both procedures as I have Sjogren's syndrome which causes very dry eyes. I needn't have worried - Mr Lash has done exceptional surgery and has willingly given much-needed reassurance throughout, with prompt and thorough answers to my (many) questions. Special thanks must also go to his secretary, Tanya, who has been an absolute star. Once again, many thanks to you both.
