GBThank you Pacific Teen Treatment When our teen son came to us with a mental health crisis, we didn't know where to turn. Thankfully, the Pacific Teen Treatment Center website caught our eye and we made the call. That was the start of an incredible journey of learning and healing for our family. The therapists, staff and other client families have been kind, respectful and accepting. As a parent, trusting the life (physical and emotional) of your child to a group of people that you don't know very well isn't easy. But, there was never a moment that we didn't feel safe and accepted. Their non-punitive approach and therapies focus on the whole person and include the whole family. Our son received wonderful guidance, tools and strategies for coping with his mental health struggles. We highly recommend Pacific Teen Treatment and are forever grateful.

GBThere is help It is, at best, "difficult" and at it's worst, "a devastating crisis" to try and find resources for teens that struggle with anxiety and depression. Pacific Teen Treatment and its team of professionals not only educated us about the process of treatment but provided us transformative tools, as a family, to begin to move forward and support our children. The approach is about mind, body and soul and the healing is about us all. Thank you!

GBPacific Teen Treatment - Unique & Effective Pacific Teen Treatment (PTT) is a unique and very special program. My 17-year-old daughter came home at the end of last month after spending 56 days there. She returned in a completely different place as a result of her time there and our entire family is now on a much better path. I can’t say enough good things about PTT, nor how grateful I am that we found it. All of our lives have been changed for the better by PTT. I personally find it difficult to think of PTT as “residential” because it is so fundamentally different than other out-of-home mental health treatment programs for struggling adolescents. A number of years ago, my oldest son struggled with mental health and substance abuse issues as an adolescent and ultimately went to a traditional residential program. He did receive some much-needed help, but he also experienced a certain level of additional trauma because he was exposed to a number of kids with problems quite different and, in some cases, much more severe than his own. Some had histories of violent and sexually predatory behavior; others had extensive involvement with the legal system. This part of his experience scared me when it became clear that my daughter needed more intensive help than we could provide at home. PTT is targeted to a particular range of kids who are suffering from mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. The type of kids PTT is designed to help act out in a variety of unhealthy ways that significantly interfere with their own well-being and almost universally bring their family relationships into crisis. These kids may be using substances or sneaking out at night or harming themselves or considering suicide or isolating in their rooms or refusing to go to school or doing any number of other things as they attempt to cope with their emotional distress – but that emotional distress is still just a few layers down and the central issue that needs to be addressed. PTT is relatively short-term as residential treatment programs go. The typical client stays 30 to 60 days as opposed to many months. The reason this works is that the PTT program is intensive. Each kid is assigned a care team. Individual therapy occurs daily and group therapy multiple times each day. PTT works with a maximum of 6 kids at any given time and the small cohort of kids plays an important role in the therapeutic process. One thing I noticed during my daughter’s time at PTT is that parents who send their kids there seem to come in with varying levels of feeling that their kid is “the problem.” With PTT’s help, nearly all of us seemed to realize pretty quickly that our kids’ issues didn’t emerge in a vacuum and we had work to do alongside our teens. Family work is a big part of what makes PTT successful. This includes family therapy sessions with the kid and parents, as well as multi-family groups run by an experienced therapist that bring together all the kids and their families. The program also offers parent sessions for the kids’ parents to share and learn from one another and a family therapist. Jeremy Manne, PTT’s Director, has a deep background in adolescent residential treatment, having worked at a number of other programs prior to founding PTT. Developing PTT as an alternative, more effective residential treatment model for teens struggling in particular ways is obviously an ongoing labor of love for him and the team he has assembled. He can help you figure out if your kid is the right fit for what PTT has to offer and if not, he’ll be straight with you. PTT harbors no delusions about being the right program for every struggling kid – which is why it can serve the kids it does so well.

GBMental health Mental health, we take it for granted until life shows us that we can't. This is certainly the case for us and our family. After two hospitalizations in a one month span for severe depression with seeming psychosis, we were in a bad place with our young teen. We felt lost, alone and very much lacking in the skills necessary to continue to raise day to day someone who was this ill. Truly a miracle, on a whim, I reached out to Pacific Teen Treatment (PTT) and immediately felt saved. Jeremy, the company's founder, personally handled all of my initial concerns and questions as we wrestled with the very difficult decision to place our daughter in a 30 plus day residential program. He made magic happen and just days later, our daughter, lost and seemingly lacking in life light, was taken in to PTT with open, caring and expert arms. Over the next 33 days, with the astounding care of the entire PTT team including Mariana, her individual therapist and Angela, the family therapist, our sweet daughter came back to life! Needless to say, I could write pages about the wonders that is this program. How can words alone suffice what PTT has done for not only my daughter, but our entire family? The program has it all- individual daily therapy, group therapy, family therapy, therapeutic school time, all facilitated by licensed therapists. Plus, the program has 24 hour care and supervision all in a gorgeous and spacious facility that felt like an ocean paradise to this desert dweller. Along with therapy, PTT offers a licensed nutritionist who works along side their full-time chefs who prepare the most delicious, healing meals each day. The program also has clinical interns who bring a caring, yet more youthful demeanor to the center. Pacific Teen Treatment truly rescued us. From the darkness we now have light. As others have mentioned, mental health is precarious and our journey will continue to have tougher days and long nights. However, thanks to this program we are ready. We are strong. We have hope!

GBSending my daughter to PTT was the best… Sending my daughter to PTT was the best decision that I ever made. We were at the point where we did not know what to do. Everything that we tried did not help and we are at our wits end. After doing lots of research, I came across PTT, which was exactly what I was looking for. Once I talked to Jeremy, I knew this was the right place for us. Jeremy and the staff were not only welcoming but they communicated with us every step of the way. They always made themselves available for questions And they kept us in the loop. My daughter was at PTT for 45 days and she came home a brand new person. from the time we dropped her off to the time we picked her up, it was a night and day difference; she looked and seemed a lot happier and healthier. transitioning home the first couple of weeks was a little rough but we got back into the swing of things pretty quickly. Our daughter has been home for about 5 months now and still has not reverted back into her old ways. PTT helped her deal with her issues, frustrations and feelings and showed her how to manage them. It is so nice to have our daughter back!!!!! I would highly recommend PTT to anyone that has a teen that needs help. It's obvious that it isn't just a job to all of the staff, they really care about the teens and their well-being.
