INDon't trust them with your money, or else most definitely get scammed! I booked a single session with TalkToTherapist on 24th August, 2023. I received a text message later that day from a professional stating her availability which only showed slots for the next weekend. I am in absolute distress at the moment and need urgent help. She said she won't be available until next Friday (which also got booked by the next day), and then she told me that she'd only be available on Saturday or Sunday next week. I read their refund policy, and it's completely unfair to rob people of their money even when they are not able to get the help they require. Coming to the decision of seeking mental health support in itself takes a lot of courage for all mental health patients. A lot of patients come with serious mental illnesses and it's absolutely critical for mental health service providers to be able to provide help at the soonest possible. I was determined to take the session, but my only criteria was to get an appointment atleast within 2 days. If I purchase a session, and the therapist is unable to provide slots - what's my fault in that? Why should I be denied refund because the therapist is busy? That does not make any sense. Today morning around 9:30am she texted me to say that she's available at 12pm today. Is this some kind of joke? Do you think I have no work? How can I be available at a such short notice without no prior intimation? However they mention in their refund policies that the therapist needs to be intimated about my availability at least before 12 hours? How ironic! I needed urgent help so I booked a different therapist from another platform. The other therapist is available today itself and I'll be getting the help that I need thankfully. TalkToTherapist doesn't even have an official email for their registered domain. Are they even for real? I'm extremely upset with this experience, and on top of that they want to tell me that I don't deserve a refund? What kind of treachery is this? Little Suggestion for TalkToTherapist: Please don't call yourself a mental health service provider unless you decide to stop fooling people with your absolutely insensitive policies.
