Kaatsu keeps me farming I use Kaatsu to help me get through two physically grueling times of the year: planting garlic & harvesting garlic. Those are extremely intense, demanding weeks, one period of a few weeks in the fall & the other early summer. If I were not using Kaatsu throughout the rest of the year to stay in shape those 4000 bulbs would be pretty tough to manage (I know, I have been farming garlic longer than I have had Kaatsu). I’m very grateful this allows me to work at this level as over 90% of my work is by hand, with broad fork, shovel and horihori knife. Garlic isn’t the only crop I grow but it is the most intense. On a side note, Kaatsu kept me going when I had round-the-clock care of a family member after open heart surgery for many months.
