It's a stretch to just say it's sketchy This seems like an operation that is run by 1 or maybe 2 people, and as far as I can tell, they are based in Singapore. I paid for a 1-year plan that cost me $96, and it worked pretty well and did exactly what I wanted. The next day I went to cancel the subscription because I didn't want to be charged in a year when my subscription runs out (to clarify, the $96 was already taken out of my account). I also tried removing my credit card, but it wouldn't let me because "I had an active subscription," which is very weird considering I had already paid in full for the service, but I stupidly ignored it for the time being. When I went back to use it just a few days later, all of my paid perks were gone. Confused, I clicked around on the site, and I went to the pricing section, I then clicked on one of the plans just to see if I missed what the plan offered, and then my page refreshed. Confused, I went to the home page, and then I got a notification on my phone telling me that I had been charged $144 for the subscription. I had never clicked on any checkout page and was never prompted for anything; it just instantly charged me for the subscription. So now I attempt to find the refund page, which takes me a bit, but I eventually find a singular support email. I received this email and started doing some research. Come find out that this site and many others like it use bots that spam comments on Reddit to work as advertising for the site. Now convinced that I have been scammed, I disable my card and file a chargeback request. After many days, I did get an email back offering a refund, which told me that they were willing to give me a refund, but they wanted me to remove my review here on Trust Piolet. I tell them I might do it after I get my money back. I do end up getting a refund for my $250, but I am certain they only did this because they would've been charged a fee on top of the refund if the chargeback ended in my favor. This site has no information about any real people who run it. It's seemingly based in a foreign country with retaliatively low regulations compared to the West, and it's sketchy from top to bottom. They instantly charge you if you miss clicking anything. They won't let you delete your information, including your credit card. Their support page is a single email that may or may not respond, their pricing is deceiving, and their refund policy is an actual joke. If you only have 3 days to request a refund and you are not allowed to use more than 1,000 words before requesting one, I also got a pretty large increase in scam text messages and calls, but that's anecdotal. Between all of this and quiet franking, the service is overpriced. 5k words cost about $0.20–$0.30 if based on the ChatGPT-4 API. If it was run more like a real operation/business, then maybe you can trust it, but it's more of a stretch to call all of this a mistake than a scam. Don't use this site or any of the similar ones (almost all of which do all the same scummy tactics like advertising through the use of bots).
