GBPossible scam? I am a highly educated, well traveled guy. I purchased a three- month membership that allows users unlimited ability to send penpal requests to other users. I must have reached out to 200+ other users and not one acknowledgement. I submitted a “ ticket” to the “ support” team thinking I must be doing something wrong. Again, nothing leading me to conclude that this is probably a scam.

DEwrote my first penpal.me postcard and… wrote my first penpal.me postcard and received a card real quick after - the physical postcard across the world is a nice way to interact and contact people with the same interests!

GBApparently there is another service… Apparently there is another service that is also called penpal but has world at the end of the web address. I was so frustrated and confused when the site told me that my login information doesn't work and I cannot reset the password as my email isn't registered in the system! Went here to leave a review and saw the discrepancies in the domains. The difference is that this penpal.me sends cards! Like real printed cards that you can create online. The other one is more like regular social network. Be aware

DEGreat way to connect with new people! Really great way to connect with new people - and it's quite different to what is out there already. Getting a real postcard in the post from someone is such an awesome way to find out about someone's culture!

GBGreat idea, lousy support team So I’ve used the site for about 8 months now. It started off great. Met some interesting folks. But this month I had a few issues that required support. One card wouldn’t register (to notify sender it was received). Support told me “it should work”. Well, yeah it should but it didn’t. My reply asked the guy to forward it to someone who wants to help. Turns out there was a ‘glitch’ in their system that programmers were able to resolve. Yay! I was prepared to be happy. Their FAQ says if postcards aren’t marked received after 30 days to contact support and they’ll be re-printed and mailed again. Around the 20th of July, 2022 I mailed off 3 cards, two on the same day and a third a couple days later. All to USA addresses (which is also where I am). None have been received. I contacted support per their FAQ. Same unhelpful customer service person responds and tells me “some people don’t register their cards”. Well, yes but given their FAQ that’s not the response I expected. Added bonus, as I sent my last card I was down to a $1.45 balance in my credits which is just short of what’s needed to send a card. I had to reload credits in order to use them instead of just paying the difference. We’ll see if they’ll refund my purchase less that amount since they definitely aren’t honoring their side of the deal.
