GBblessing I use to read into a recorder for nursing school. I spent any hours and lose sleep to pass my classes. I have just started back to school to finish my RN program and I am very thankful for speechify.

CAWent from a hater to a lover in a few emails! I was extremely escalated as I was charged the full price, when it said I was to have a discount, and I didn’t even have access to the premium version. Poonam stepped in and totally turned my experience and frustration around in a professional manner. They resolved, not only my issue, but gave me an even further discount for my trouble in a very timely manner. I went from a Speechify hater to lover in just a few emails, thank you Poonam for your excellent customer service! :)

CAPredatory subscription model and endless bugs The premium service (especially the mobile app) is extremely buggy and not worth the price, in my opinion. Not offering monthly memberships is extremely predatory. We all know subscription services make most of their money from people forgetting to cancel free trials, but most companies have the decency to only charge you for the month. 100$+ is a hell of a price to pay for forgetting to cancel. Now onto the technical issues. The voices themselves are great, but I frequently have to refresh the page because the audio starts cutting out and skipping over whole paragraphs. The “highlight text” feature is great until you touch literally anything on the screen, then it freaks out and you have to toggle it on and off again to get it working. Importing texts via link has never worked a single time for me, I’ve always had to upload pdfs. The options to “skip citations” never works correctly either so I always find I have to edit the pdf manually myself which takes several minutes and makes the “time saving” facet of this service completely moot for me. The mobile app is so buggy it’s honestly not even worth having, in my experience. There are other issues but I feel like I’ve made my point. The fact you cannot get monthly memberships sucks the most for me. I only need the service during the months I have school, so paying a yearly membership (other than being extremely predatory and shady to begin with), is very inconvenient for me. Lastly, the last time I contacted customer service I had to wait 5 days before I received an answer, which was endlessly frustrating because I was cramming for my finals and needed my problem solved way earlier.
