Is great for creating video tutorials which are vital in a hand over situatio Is great for creating video tutorials so that knowledge gained over the years by valued employees is not lost when they retire. Love the product and the easy access to their help desk.

Camtasia 2023 crashes on AMD constantly. I've been a Camtasia user now for several years and pay for their maintenance service (for free updates). Honestly, it's an excellent video editor for ease of use. However, even after several updates the current edition (2023), is a lag and crash fest on my AMD 7800X3D powered, 64 GB, RTX 3090. Just a few assets on the timeline causes freezes, and then crashes. I'm fortunate that being a long time customer I still have access to some previous editions, so I'm stuck using Camtasia 2022, which is running perfectly for me. Techsmith also seem to ignore, or even delete, forum messages reporting this issue. They deleted my forum posts when I report these problems, so they try to cover this up.

Mediocre Customer Support Camtasia will respond but expect it to take 24-48 hours, which can be a long wait if you're working on a project with a deadline. Also, their responses are not very personal or detailed regarding the specifics of your question(s) and are usually just a link to watch a video. Quite disappointed.

Best applications for screenshots and screen capture (Review for SnagIt and Camtasia) These 2 applications by this company are among the best in their genre. Snagit contains all that you need to create professional-looking screenshots with many tools for annotation, cropping, and editing that can help a lot. I use it both for quick screenshot cropping to send with instant messages AND professional screenshots to send to my staff on how to do things with the computers. Camtasia is also the best screen capture I've ever used, can create quick and professional-looking training videos, with also many tools for annotating and adding effects on videos, sounds, and mixing. I own both these software, with their respective maintenance agreement to always have latest versions. Their price is not low as some expect, but the ease of use makes them worth every penny.

Snag It and Camtasia I like their Snagit tool and Camtasia. I find them both easy to use, especially for those who need only intermediate capabilities. I use Snagit to capture screenshots and instruction graphics for our help center and Camtasia to do basic editing on webinar recordings. Works for my needs although their programs do crash occasionally and have bugs, I find I just need to exit the program entirely and restart it on my computer and that usually does the trick.
