CAD: THE RETURN I recently got back into manual drafting after thirty years to work on designing theatricalsets for my community theater. At that time, I also did computer aided design using AutoCad, and thought it would be a good tool for not only drafting sets, but printing them out on my 3D printer (I haven't tried that, yet). The progeCad crew has been very helpful in my initial return to CAD drafting. And I think they're doing a lot of things right.

Former full-time Autocad user I'm a former full-time Autocad user; 25 years in Civil and Structural design. Can't believe how easy and seamless the transition is. Also can't thank you enough for saving me money!

Good Software, good response My initial contact was less than stellar, having met with a bit of confusion when I was sent the wrong email attaching the key to v 2021, when I had purchased v 2024. Since the versions are not interchangeable, I was a bit concerned. Phone numbers were lacking, and the bots did not address the issue. However, I did get a timely response to my email. Everything was cleared up rather quickly (it was an error on ProgeCAD's part) and I was ready to go. The software is a bit on the awesome side if you're used to AutoCAD, as there is little to no learning curve. File reads are seamless (so far) and I haven't experienced any issue to speak of after using the software for about 30 days. I've been an AutoCAD user since 1986, purchasing v10, 2000, 2004 and 2010, and am disgusted at having those perpetual licenses effectively revoked in favor of the perpetual pay model. While awaiting the class action lawsuit against Autodesk, I was fortunate to find ProgeCAD, and don't see myself returning to AutoCAD. I feel comfortable in recommending at this point, but will check back with periodic updates if necessary.

I've only been a user a month or so I've only been a user a month or so. I can hardly tell the difference from AutoCAD. TBH I'm only a 2D user so maybe not an expert. But so far, it has been great. I recently retired and could not take useable copies with me, but now with PROGECAD I am all set to go!

Economical and smooth transition from AutoCAD. Thank you for the welcoming letter and comments. It was in the mid to late 80's when I first begin using autoCAD for my work as product designer for a small manufacturing company in the Midwest. It was a great tool and was a great transition from working on the board with all the necessary drafting implements. When I retired in 2004 that was the end of accessing any of the upgrades as they became available. Although I am an avid DIY'er and enjoy woodworking as a hobby, I couldn't justify the expense of getting the new releases. Now with the availability of progeCAD I have access to software that works perfectly with all my existing drawings and allows me to create new drawings without any additional training. I want to compliment you for making this available at such a reasonable cost. In conclusion, I would recommend this to anyone that likes to start any project with a well developed and thought out plan. Thanks, Rollin
