GBI had a fantastic experience I had a fantastic experience, but you MUST be careful. The owner and I texted multiple times for several weeks, and I was NEVER asked for money. After I adopted the dog, I paid the fee on website, which was $99. If anyone asks you for money directly or seems shady, don’t do it. Maybe I was lucky — I am definitely a lucky dog mom of a now 5 year old.

GBI got my Shih Tzu October 2023 I got my Shih Tzu October 2023 through GET YOUR PET after being disappointed by MANY online sites as well as a reputable, local breeder. I loss my 13 yo Yorkie in 2019 to cancer, then I had surgery during COVID and decided it was time for another fur-kid. The process was seamless! I met the owner in my church parking lot along with my pastor. We both agreed this would be the dog for me! Not sure what problems these posters encountered but everything from the initial meeting to the FREE vet visit was PERFECT. I am so very sorry that the opinions of a few as well as the questionable behavior of many has caused this organization to fold. Way too many pets going into shelters with horrible end of life :-( I had a choice of 3 different dogs but LEO chose ME ;-)

GBBe Patient and Follow Up after - don't pay owner, pay the website! Very difficult platform within which to actually communicate with the pet's 'guardian'. After making an appointment with the pet's owner and her bailing on me at the last minute after driving a long way out of my way - she rescheduled to meet me the next day only later. I was very nervous and refused to get my hopes up but after all the drama we met, she surrendered her adorable male cat to me and now I happily have a new furbaby. I did go out to the site immediately after and "followed up" and paid the $49 adoption fee for a cat. I've since had him neutered and a few vaccines and he's finally settling down (after a week of "marking" and yeowling the most horrific sounding noises ever. He needed his nuts cut!

GBSCAM- BEWARE I am terribly disappointed. I found a chihuahua named Cue that I was going to adopt today from a guy named Howard. Definitely a SCAM! He demanded $100 upfront for paperwork through venmo, PayPal, or Zelle. I told him the website states no payment to guardian, especially before meeting. He kept insisting he needed it. I told him forget it. I'm not sure the dog even exists.

GBSad to see you go getyourpet.com The company provided a great service. I got my pet through them. They were as legit as they come. I paid a small fee AFTER the adoption. I was able to meet my doggie and his former mommy before adopting. After adoption, I paid the fee and got the free vet visit as promised. If scammers decided to take advantage of the noble service this company was providing it should not be a reflection of the company. Too bad the people that have provided negative reviews can't make that distinction. Perhaps they are one and the same as the scammers! If you really love pets, this was a way for animals to stay in their home until adopted without having to go to shelter. Sad to see you go Getyourpet.com.
