GBIntermittent False Errors and Poor Product QA/QC It worked well for the first day then it started giving error codes E7 or E1. I thought I had an electrical problem at first, but then realized that a slight movement of the surge protector fixed it. I’ve done it several times so I’m certain there is a defect inside the surge protector. It also doesn’t wait the 90 seconds like it is supposed to. Just lightly tap or move the protector and the error immediately goes away.

GBHughs Auto Former 50 amp We saw a fellow RV’er with a Hughs Autoformer and he strongly recommended that we have one. Love the replaceable surge protector. Luckily we have not had to replace it! Just bought the rain jacket for ours. Looks like high quality material.

GBReliable voltage at RV Parks After having a heatpump/airconditioner fail in my motorhome due to low voltage at an RV park, I purchased the Hughes Autoformer last year. I have had good voltage as we travel from RV Park to RV Park and I feel comforted knowing that I am now also protected from surges and spikes.

GBDon't Leave Home without It! One of the first things we purchased before taking possession of our first Travel Trailer was buying the 30A Autoformer. This decision was based on reviewing online recommendations about possible electrical problems you can encounter while traveling and staying at different RV campgrounds. We have been very fortunate during our many stays over the last 3 years to have only encountered one campground that had a bad electrical problem that the Autoformer detected. We were able to bring the problem to the office and they immediately repaired the problem. We feel this device can and will assist us any time we pull into a new location or even during long stays. My recommendation Don't Leave Home without it.

GBI am a little confused about some of… I am a little confused about some of the few negative comments and it got me worried. What do I do if I am stuck someplace and I cannot get advice or help. So I called and they picked up on second ring. I asked about the autofomer which I bought because I experienced exactly what they speak about in several State parks. Before the autoformer I seemed to have trouble charging things and our TV had crazy lines. I thought it was the Sat dish. I measure the voltage at the post the following day it was 119 to 121 voltage. That night the parked filled up and our TV acted up. I measured the line voltage again one side read 108 the other read 105 to 109 and would not stay steady. It was a hot days so everyone was using their air conditioner Last month I returned to the same park and this time I had the Hughes Autoformer. I had no issues. The following night I unplugged the Autoformer and within an hour the picture on the TV started to shrink off and on and saw a wave in the picture. I noticed this got worse when our AC first cycled on. Just to see I used a digital voltmeter measuring both sides of the post sure enough the voltage was 109 even one side dropped to 103 volts then 107,109, 106. I shut the power and put back in the autoformer. Measuring the output it was rock solid 120 one side the other 119. I plugged the RV back in and the picture returned to normal. Staying 4 more days we never had another issue. While I know it helps my TV I am sure having low voltage and up and down voltage I am sure is no good for your TV or AC. I am sure the internal surge protector also does a great job. Why would anyone chance it. While you might have a service plan who wants to have their trip ended. I highly recommend the autoformer and considering including adding the Watchdog. I called when we got home to report my finding and again the calls was answered on the third ring. I am sure companies get busy and people call with tech question usually at busy times but I swear but this company and the piece of mind their gear gives me
