I Can't Thank This Program ENOUGH! I started taking Chemistry at the University of Arizona for the full year of 2021-2022. I was taking both 151 and 152 along with both having labs. My first exam in the Fall Semester of 2021, I completely failed it. Rushing to my parents, I bawled my eyes out completely and felt so belittled by such a bad grade. In doing so, my family reached out to Stem Excellence and found a tutor for me. Her name is Lori and she absolutely changed the way I thought throughout this class. This was not just a simple "ask questions, and you'll get answers," type of format. It was basically another class with less than 20 students who got to learn the material twice, but this time, from her own perspective. From being with her for only a couple weeks, I managed to get the worst grade of my life to almost acing my second exam. She goes off the syllabus the professor's use when it comes down to what lessons we're learning and explains them thoroughly instead of skimming through. The time this program puts into their students is absolutely amazing. They even have "Check-In," calls where you can update your tutor with how you're feeling and doing. I promise you, this was definitely worth it in the long run and helped me get the grade I deserved. Can't thank you enough Stem Excellence!

Beyond my expectations, wonderful chemistry tutor!!! I am writing this review as a student who worked with Dr. Lori Culberson as my tutor during the spring semester of my chemistry 151 class at the University of Arizona. I had lost confidence in my abilities and was frustrated with my test grades despite my study efforts in the class. From the first session, Lori made an immediate impact on my understanding of the materials. I was able to message my questions to Lori prior to our sessions and she was always prepared and knowledgable on the specific topics so that the session time was always put to its best use as we went over content that aligned exactly with my chemistry 151 course. Lori was articulate, friendly, encouraging and patient as she worked with me during the spring semester. The written recaps/notes and topic reviews that she provided after each session were like an additional tutoring session in themselves. I could write notes on the recap and refer back to it at school when needed. In the end, I was able to raise my final grade and finished with an A and Lori’s tutoring played a significant role in this outcome. This was my first attempt at using an online tutoring platform like Stem excellence and I am fortunate to have found Lori. I would recommend her without hesitation and I will continue to work with her as I navigate my future chemistry courses!
