First time Rubio Monocoat user First time Rubio Monocoat user. Walnut color on Walnut, live edge slab. Turned out beautiful! Built a bar for my wedding reception and the guests were blown away! Served 100+ guests all night long and the stain/finish on the Walnut slab held up perfectly! Not 1 single issue was found the next morning!

I love this product, but..... I love this product and it was very easy to use and the finished product was exactly what I was looking for. I am not however impressed with the durability! I refinished 2 pieces of English Walnut for charcuterie boards. They were allowed to cure for over a week before use and were extremely fine sanded before finishing. After one use they were heavily stained from berries and cheese and when scrubbed cleaned they are now dull and splotchy. I am now second guessing using this product again on future projects. For the price I expected more.

Samples disappointing I ordered 2 samples smoke 5% and natural and they barely provided any tint to my countertop. The colors shown don’t have an indication of what wood they may be applied to in order to produce the desired color. Unfortunately, I spent $13/sample and neither were near the sample swatch shown.

Great customer service for a Noob. While venturing into this new type of protection for wood, I had many questions I could not get answered through normal means of googling or watching YouTube. I made the phone call to get information on Rubio monocoat and customer service was very very helpful. He gave me perfectly clear instructions to help me make sense out of using this product. I bought my color samples to try it out and love it. And now on to building to my table. Thanks guys!

Good oil, with caveats This stuff, although expensive, makes a superior oil finish. Be careful with the accelerator. A partial can will 1) glue the can shut if you are not very careful and 2) cure the whole can once opened. For this reason I think it is more suitable for use in larger quantities rather than small woodworking projects. I have to say again that this is an excellent product.
