Concerns Regarding USPS: Price Hikes, Service Slowdowns, and Profit-Oriented Changes The USPS has experienced periodic price hikes and a noticeable slowdown in service, coinciding with changes initiated by Postmaster General DeJoy. His focus on inefficient practices and profits has raised concerns, as USPS is a public service funded by taxpayers. USPS should prioritize serving the people over maximizing profits, remaining accountable to the taxpayers it serves. Review of USPS between 2020 & 2024 Date: 4-24-2024

USPS threw away a package that I wrote Return to Sender on claiming that it was undeliverable. USPS threw away a package that I wrote Return to Sender on. The package was sent via UPS to me from Garrett Wade and was a jar opener for $30.00. I realized after ordering it that I had already purchased one a year earlier so I attempted to cancel the order but it had already been sent. I was advised by GW to simply Return it without opening. I personally handed it to my letter carrier who said that it would be placed in a UPS bin as part of Carrier Agreement for them to return to GW as it also had a USPS code. But after 7 to 10 days I did not hear from GW. Upon tacking the USPS code the message was that the package could not be delivered to the Sender or returned to the recipient and was "Disposed Of." Upon calling 1 800 ASK USPS I was told that "USPS disposes of packages all the time. She said that it was "undeliverable" to either party and they simply threw it away. BUT USPS WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO DELIVER THE PACKAGE. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PLACED INTO A UPS BIN FOR UPS TO DELIVER IT BACK TO THE SENDER. USPS told me that that they are not responsible for the cost of the item because it was not insured. And to add insult to injury there seems to be no way for me to even find out who the PostMaster is or how to speak to him as none of their policy pertains to unopened packages being returned.

While the speed of some mail delivery… While the speed of some mail delivery has improved, USPS is now a public-private company. It was never created to be that. If your package weighs 1.1 lbs, you have to pay them for 2 lbs. This is preposterous. No one else stole this brazenly.
