GBBait and switch! I stupidly put my desire to get a transport on one of the websites that supposedly gives you an approximate price. What it actually does is provide your information to dozens of transport brokers, some of who are a bit shady. Needless to say, I was inundated in minutes with dozens of brokers (not actual companies who transport cars). One of which was Hyperion. They gave a good price of $580 from NJ to Florida. I gave them the down payment and was told they let me know when they had a driver and transport company. On March 29, I get a frantic message that they cannot do it for the quoted price and need $750 or nobody will take the job. I offer $700 and begin checking other websites, but not before I saw their posting of the job they placed on March 8 offering $750 instead of the $580 they promised me. I got somebody to take the job for less on my own. Here’s my advice. Google highest rated auto transport before you book with anybody. Then call the better rated companies and get a quote. Then use your bargaining leverage to get the best deal. Don’t let them hustle you out of your hard earned cash! I’m still waiting to see if they refund the deposit I gave them for a $580 job.
