Smooth Sailing This was the most well run cruise we've ever been on. From staying at the hotel before, boarding the ship and disembarkation not a hitch. All this with a caring and attentive crew. We booked our next cruise on board.

The cruise was my first of this type… The cruise was my first of this type and it was beyond all of my expectations. The ship, Melody, was clean, neat and stable, The crew from the dinning room servers to the housekeepers were superb. Cant wait until my snake/Columbia cruise in June.

A marvelous short cruise We signed up for a short cruise with American just to get our feet wet, so to speak. It proved to be terrific. We especially liked fewer passengers, all over age 50. The cruise was very comfortable. Staff was enthusiastic and helpful. And the food was outstanding. We also appreciated the onboard historian's talks every night.

The ship accomodations were excellent The ship accomodations (cabin, lounges, laundry, dinning room) were excellent. The food was very high quality and the selections were very good. The "open bar" policy resulted in abuse, as you must know. The elderly population of our cruise drank more than they should given the negative impact on their health with heavy drinking. Dinner beer and wine is more appropriate with an cash bar. Subsidizing alcoholic consumption is not a reasonable marketing strategy.

Cruising on a small ship I have been on cruises on large ships before but never had the personal interaction with the staff that I had on this cruise. There was a crew-member with a smile on every corner of the ship. The food and entertainment were excellent. Any future cruises I take will be with American Cruise Lines.
