CACanadians beware of Meredith lodging I wanted to share my experience with MEREDITH LODGING but after reading other reviews my experience seems trivial in comparison but nonetheless equally annoying. So I will only leave you with a warning. WATCH YOU CREDIT CARD. I had to block them to guard against unauthorized charges. Show me the pictures. I asked for proof but you did not respond yet you say significant damage, which sounds like an exaggeration. Since you won't show me the pictures I asume you are not being truthful and I have trust issues with that. But never feer my dearie I will not be renting from you again anyway and I advise all Canadian to do the same.

GBNo propane and house was dirty Our visit started with a broken shade blocking the view on the large picture window facing the ocean. We were unable to cook/use the stove or the fireplace. We called for maintenance and he showed up about an hour later and said he couldn’t fix anything and the property was out of propane. We couldn’t use the stove and had to eat dinner out and breakfast out the next morning (an extra $300 spent). We also noticed grease splattered on the wall in the kitchen behind the stove, hair in the sink in master bath and makeup on the sheets. We paid $350 for the night and were completely disappointed. Not to mention that we were disgusted by the lack of cleanliness. Meredith Lodging thought an $81 refund, was acceptable, it's not. I have since seen many reviews about no propane, stinky towels, dog poop in the house, etc. This is not the way to do busines, Meredith Lodging.

GBWe arrived for the Christmas break and… We arrived for the Christmas break and discovered quickly that ALL the faucets had salt water coming out of them - including the filtered water faucets. There was dog poop in the corner of the living room; the fireplace didn't work, the hot tub stopped half way through our trip and well, the list goes on and on. They know exactly what our issues were and have offered no recompense, sympathy, help or anything. DON"T rent from them.

GBLacks Customer Service Skills During my recent stay at one of their properties in Big Bear, I found its location undeniably advantageous, offering convenient access to nearby access to the village, lake, and breathtaking views. This, however, was a highlight of an otherwise challenging experience. Regrettably, the property itself seemed in need of significant attention and maintenance. Several essential amenities, including the dishwasher, ice maker/leaking fridge, trash compactor, gas range (only 2 of 5 ranges worked), fireplace in the upper unit not functioning (requiring wood supplied by maintenance), and heater, were not functioning properly during my stay. Additionally, there was a continuous issue with the running toilet, which added to the discomfort. What compounded these inconveniences was the level of customer service encountered. The response to our concerns, particularly from the front desk, lacked the empathy and professionalism one would expect. The staff's approach felt dismissive, which did not align with the hospitality standards that ensure a welcoming and comfortable stay for guests. While I recognize the potential of lakefront property due to its stellar location, my experience underscores a pressing need for property maintenance and customer service improvements. A more proactive and guest-focused approach could enhance the overall experience, making it a place where guests appreciate the location and feel valued and well-cared for. The rating is mainly due to poor customer service. FYI - do expect a quick response from Big Bear office. I contacted the main number and only sent me to voice mail.
