SEThe Power Of Community I am still trying to fathom my new reality; to finally work in Product with really smart people and solve real problems. For many years, I sat on the other side of the table as a Recruiter to listen to the stories Product Managers and Developers shared with me in awe. And for many years, I let the idea of becoming a PM die down; believing I was not competent or experienced enough to take the leap. But that quickly changed when I got laid off and had nothing to lose. I signed up for Product Gym and worked my ass off; followed the instructions and successfully landed a PM internship at an EdTech startup in Stockholm. And ugh, it was extremely tedious and challenging. There were days I was just done. But I kept pushing and pushing, because I had a community that always backed me up. I honestly don't think I could have done it without PG’s program, coaching and community. Every part played a huge role in shaping my new dream and reality–to become a skilled Product Manager. Today, I am working as Product Delivery Manager at an IT consulting firm and part-time CPO at a tech startup. And believe me, none of this could happen without the PG community. I am so grateful for the entire journey, and once again, thank you again for making this come true for me and countless others out there.

ESGetting laid off ended up being one of the best things that could have happened to me... I was laid off with many other tech workers in Q4 2022. Before the layoff, I enjoyed working with product teams and thought this could be a good time for me to transition from marketing to product manager. I chose PG over competitors because I liked the fact that they held your hand through offer and negotiation discussions as this was something I specifically wanted support on. Through the process, interview prep and courses however, I realized that I loved a lot of elements of product management (and the salaries), but marketing was still where my heart was. I decided to leverage PG’s courses, techniques, and guides to manage my application process. It had been 10 years since I’d had to apply or interview for a job and I found their guides and resume formatting support EXTREMELY helpful. Having other people in the PG community to practice interviews with, compare notes, and keep each other motivated through the ups and downs of navigating job applications and interviews was also a huge help. PG’s frameworks and interview questions prepared me to nail my marketing interviews and I received multiple offers. I accepted an offer for the target salary I thought was only attainable for product managers (!) and on top of that, my new job is with an amazing company that I’m so excited to work for. Getting laid off ended up being one of the best things that could have happened to me. I definitely credit PG with helping me achieve my dream salary and dream job; I can’t speak for everyone but I have undeniably recouped my investment in Product Gym and then some!

GBIncredible Support Tool Product Gym was incredibly helpful for me during my most recent job hunt. I was laid off right after an expensive wedding, and wasn’t in a place, financially, to weather a long and fruitless process. PG gave me all the tools and data from which I used to craft an inspiring resume that perfectly navigates a lot of the unseen filters that exist in the modern HR screening programs. In addition to that, the internal community is super supportive, strong, and willing to give time and effort to raise up new members. This helped me to average a 10-15% interview rate for applications submitted, and from that I was hovering at about an 8 interview average per week. Their education program really gets you up to speed quickly, and without PG I would have never landed a job within three months of getting laid off.

INIf you want to get product right, do it the Product Gym way Product Gym has helped me get 3 offers within 3 months, of positions higher than what I was targeting. I loved their program structure as it was inclusive and easy to navigate, regardless of someone’s experience in Product Management. Their staff is cordial and very supportive. Shoutout to Cody Chang and Jermaine McClellan :) I’d like to specifically call out the Circle community @Product Gym, everyone is rooting for your success and ready to help you at all times. Given the current economic climate, there wasn’t a single moment I felt alone in this grueling process, and also made some lifelong connections :) I hope to see sessions around helping people excel once they secure a job, that will be super valuable. I’d highly recommend anyone who is not only eyeing lucrative PM jobs but also wants to become an uber-sharp product leader.

GBProduct Gym is the real deal Product Gym's teachers started out as recruiters for product managers, so they know exactly what your resume needs to look like and exactly how you need to interview in order to get a product manager job. And they're good at it. They have classes, workshops, and practice sessions, and are highly successful at helping people.
